This weekend in Elkins, Arkansas Hedgie and Tova had a girls weekend and did some scentwork!

Hedgie earned her overall novice title by achieving her last needed exterior leg as well as getting an insurance exterior novice leg. She also got two advance interior and an advanced container leg. She's really taking to scentwork- it's mainly because of the treatos.

Tova and Jennifer are having some communication troubled and on one run Tova would q but not bring Jennifer along and vice versa. We are confident their partnership is just growing stronger.

We are all packing for Standard Standard National where all will be in attendance, even the lowchen and a random picard. Stay tuned for updated as we can get to them!!

Over the weekend Mischief traveled to SW Indiana to help a start up barn hunt club. Emily was their secretary so they could host a trial. Since we were going, the SSCA rescue chair asked if we could evaluate a rescue that needed to come in. As Boxer/Schnauzer Rescue of the Ozarks had a foster home for him (a breed rescue Jennifer started with another individual over 25 yrs ago), he was brought back with them. This boy is a prime example of why you research your breeder. He is very dog oriented but you notice he is dragging a long line as he is terrified of people and will flee. He is also wearing a Tractive GPS collar should he get loose. He also drags a 6ft lead in the house so he can be caught. He will work with a foster home experienced with these issues so that he can be adopted through the SSCA to hopefully what is his final home. This boy is just a year old and already headed to his third placement.

We had a great time with the barn hunt club too with Tova earning 2 first places and 2 high in classes in Master B sending her to the SSCA national needing 1 leg for her RATCHx4. Roger rode along and supplied the pretty Picard conversation

Look at this distinguished gentleman. Peter does therapy visits several times a week and is popular among the hospital staff too. These staff members all wanted their picture with him.

When Peter isn't bringing smiles to the hospitals, he is busy in various performance rings. Kim and Peter make a fabulous team and we couldn't be more proud of them. They have earned their therapy dog excellent title meaning they have completed over 200 visits and are well on their way to their distinguished title. Often times Peter is requested to help comfort children in crisis and excels in his job.

Peter is available to approved girls that would like to meet him. Email [email protected] if interested

My belief with my program has always been that while we are conformationally correct, we also need to be able to work. This is why you don't see me in the show ring every weekend like some. A herding legend that I have admired for over 20 yrs has agreed to start teaching Tova and I'm so glad to be back to this after loosing my boxer that I did this with. This is Tova's second lesson and she is doing fantastic.

So Mischief might not be in the conformation ring every weekend but know that is because we are doing other things and working our working dogs.

We, here at Mischief, are thrilled to finally announce
that Tova, RATCHx3 AKC GCH CH/UKC CH Scarlights Tova CA DCAT SWE SBM CZ8S ATT CGC, tied for Brood Bitch of the year with the Standard Schnauzer Club of America . I'm honored and humbled and I can't imagine anyone better to be sharing this with than Kathi Dvorak. Huge congrats to Kathi for her success too!

This wouldn't have been possible if the owners of the puppies hadn't gone above and beyond to show, let me show or have the puppies shown to finish their championships. This also qualifies Tova as a leading producer.

These same puppies qualified Rogue to tie for second for stud dog of the year.

Thanks to Pia for picking a great girl!

You know us at Mischief! We aren't just about conformation! Emily and Jennifer drove 8 hrs to Chicago this weekend to have fun in scent work with a new to us club!

Weather was beautiful...mostly. Mid 80s until Sunday afternoon! Just when Emily and Hegie needed to run exteriors! But despite the pouring rain they did it and completed their novice exterior title in addition to completing their novice interior title the day before. Hegie earned her swamp monster name! Hegie needs 1 buried leg to finish her overall novice title.

Tova and Jennifer had much better weather and finished their master buried title going 4 out of 4. We won't talk about master interior which was the opposite of 0 out of 4. Tova needs 1 container, 1 exterior and 2 interior legs to finish her overall master title.

Tova says the future is so bright she needs to wear shades! She is also grateful SHE didn't have to run in the rain and was tucked warm and dry in the car during the down pours.

On to barn hunt and more conformation this weekend!

Tw***ie was entered at the Cambridge show in MN this weekend with our friends at Lucali Lowchen and got a major today!! Congrats to Gnocchi for her majors!!

In Tulsa, Hedgie got 2 q's in scentwork element interior and 2 q's in buried! This is only her third scentwork trial so we are very excited!!

Tarva has opinions and one them is he likes ribbons! Tarva was WD and BOW again today in Doswell, Virginia. Thanks again to Jessy Sutton for taking him in the class and for winners dog. Due to a ring conflict, Carlos Varga stepped in and took him into breed to get BOW. Thank you to both of them for their loving handling of Tarva. Thanks to Judge Del Richards for the recognition. Congratulations to owners Brian and Betsy! 🎉🎉

The process of finding a rat in a tube, alerting, praising and then sharing the joy of teamwork doing something fun. Thanks for Kim Chulufas for the pictures

Minerva loves this game. She is looking for a performance home that will continue to build this joy and teamwork. She has great potential for scent work, fast cat, cat, and rally in addition to barn hunt to name just a few sports.

The Mischief had a great time this weekend!

In Springfield, several mischief squad peeps had fun playing barn hunt!

Tova earned some more points towards her Crazy 8s gold, 3 legs towards her RATCHx4 and earned her first REMX leg and High in Master B!

Peter earned 2 legs towards his senior title with a second place and a first place and a high in class!

Mimi earned her open title and moved to senior where she found all her rats several times but decided the tunnel was a no go. She is really getting into this finding rats game though! She will be tunneling in no time!

Peanut earned two more legs towards his RATOx title!

Keona earned her final 2 Qs towards her senior title with 2 first places and 2 high in class. She decided to try her paw at master and did fantastic until she got a little frustrated and hit a litter. She has all the skills though and will be qualifying in Master in no time!

Roger earned 3 more legs towards his RATCHx 2 with 3 first places!!

Remember little Minerva, who is looking for a performance home, she earned another leg towards her open title with a second place. The joy she had in the ring made everyone smile and laugh! She bounded, jumped and buried her head in the fluff. She is really figuring this game out and growing in her confidence that she is correct in finding the rats.

AnnE earned another leg towards her open title with a first place and a high in class. There was obviously some discussion between Mary and AnnE about the picture as we shared earlier! Like mother like daughter!

Then, while a lot of us were having fun playing in the straw, Sam, Avery and Rogue were having fun in Tampa with several SD wins!

Stay tuned to see what mischief we will be up to next weekend!

Due to a busy home with kids, Minerva (Mischief Always A Queen Of Narnia) is looking for a new residence. She is very busy, has a high prey drive and is not happy sitting on a couch doing nothing. She has been with me for a few months now and has already obtained her novice barn hunt title and is working on her open title. She has great potential for scent work, agility and obedience with fast cat for fun. She has tried conformation and is not a big fan so that isn't a requirement at this time. Performance is a must with her. She has her mom's strong personality but has a loving side.

DOB: 5/28/23
Dad is GCHS Mistic's Early Rizor chic #165652
Mom is RATCHx3 GCH Scarlights Tova CA DCAT SWE RATCH ATT CGC chic #164317

Minerva already has her health testing started with her DCM (negative) and DNA completed

At Purina a few weeks ago we got to meet the amazing Rhonda Cassidy. I have been "friends" on Facebook with her for awhile but never had the privilege of meeting her in person. I look forward to her pictures from the all horse drawn vehicle parade in Kansas every year. (Side note, it is an amazingly beautiful parade and if you ever have a chance to go at Christmas you should do it) Needless to say, I have LONG admired her work. She captures such amazing moments with handlers and their dogs. So actually meeting her and getting to *fangirl* with her was a privilege.

A few days ago, Rhonda sent me some photos of Sam Carlson and Rogue. Proving my point that she captures such amazing moments with people and the dogs they handle. Sam loves Rogue and this picture shows that love. But then, who can blame her, Rogue and all his lost boy brothers are just special and easy to love.

Thank you for this moment Rhonda and thanks for finding the humor in my *fangirling* over you and your amazing work. You are just as kind and sweet as I expected you to be. I can't wait to see you at future shows.

If you ever have the privilege of having Rhonda photograph your dog don't miss buying the pictures!

Congratulations to Avery for another best junior with Clint.

And we are so happy and proud of our friend Patrice for going breed with her 7 mth old puppy over a special in Hutchinson, KS. Thank you to judge Cathy Daughtery for seeing the potential that Luke has. Congratulations to his breeder Linda Dobbie too.

Hedgie was unable to attend the Lowchen national since she was on maternity leave but today we got the news she received the Bonnie Shelmandine Award of Merit. This is a performance award given by the Lowchen Club of America each year. She also qualified for her Versatility Award but because of a missed paperwork deadline on my part she will be receiving it next year. As you know performance is a huge deal for us and I'm so proud that Hedgie is a great example!

We hope you are jumping into the weekend like Sam and Rogue and planning fun things to do with your mischief partner!
