Happy Holidays to all Pitties and their families, may all be safe and well looked after.
This is sadly not how pitbulls should be bred, the condition of these animals are worrisome - and one parent has an aggressive trait😔😔😔
Please take care of your dogs, and be aware of people approaching them or trying to friend them. Dogs are being stolen without end and seem to end up in kapana pots. Dogs are family not food.
Be kind to the race, honor and respect your bully as part of the family… preserve the race.

REMINDER‼️
Dear Members, so tragedy has struck and a girl was bitten, thankfully not pitbull, but once again wish to ask all members to be responsible owners. Have dogs spayed, get training from a professional dog trainer on how to handle your dog, ensure your property is secure, adhere to municipal by laws and keep your dogs on leash at all times when in public. Please do not be ignorant and think your dog will never do such a thing. It happens in a split second normally due to some trigger. We wish her a speedy recover.

A four-year-old girl was viciously attacked by a black Staffordshire bull terrier on Friday evening near the Mondesa Clinic on Olivia Haufiku Street in Swakopmund. This comes after notices were released by the Council reinstating regulations, restricting the number of registered dogs per household to four, and putting strict emphasis on the requirement that dogs be on a leash when in public spaces.
The tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of responsible pet ownership and following municipal regulations.
For this Wednesday’s Question, Answer, and Suggestion Session, we want to ask you the following:
What steps can the public or Council take to ensure incidents like these do not occur?
Should more strict punishment be placed on dog owners that do not adhere to the animal control regulations set by Council?
Very true
To all in Windhoek currently with storms please make sure your dogs are safe inside. They are scared too. Please prevent them from running away🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Dear Members there is currently a post by Kosmos 94.1 about the pitbull chaos in SA. Let us in Namibia NOT allow the media to create a hype that put owners and their beloved pets in danger. Let us condemn such sensation for this breed🤬🤬🤬 We will not allow media to brand the breed, the focus is on bad human behavior an poor knowledge about this breed. Do not entertain media…
Dear Members kindly read and act accordingly, there are municipal bylaws governing this and your dogs can be impounded. Even specialized trainers are requesting us to USE THE LEASH🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
It’s December month which means it’s walkies on the beach time🐾
We would like to urge our K9-community to P L E A S E keep your K9 on a leash AT ALL TIMES!!! Horrific accidents may happen when encountering viscous, stranger K9’s!
You will thus have more control over your dog as well as the situation! There is nothing worse like an enormous dog running towards me and my petite companion on a beach where it is clear that the owners have no control over!!!
So please, we beg the community - respect others & save lives
Keep your dog on a leash🐾🤍
Share if you would like to spread the word and feel the same about this situation
Please take note, if something looks like a pitbull, walks like a pitbull and barks like a pitbull, it might not be a pitbull. Do not accuse unless you can prove, do not assume as it can make you look like a f👀l
Lets not brand animals based on assumptions.
As we travel around the country, having conversations with shelters and rescues about the “pit bull” dogs in their care, we find that there are always a few big a-ha! moments that help people under…

Members of this group there has sadly been another burtal attack on a 3 year old boy in South Africa today, just as we all thought the dust was settling. We ask that members of our group do not comment or share these posts. All that could have been said was said over the last weeks, lets keep quite for the time being. Let us all look at our own homes, make sure our dogs and members of the public is safe. Double check all safety measures around your homes. Thats the best we can do for now to even be more responsible than before. Lets not feed social media hypes..let us all share our measures of protecting our dogs, ask questions and rather help each other becoming better pitty owners.
Kindly read, remain calm and continue to be responsible dog owners.
CALL FOR CALM
Over the last few days chaos has taken over, largely fueled by sensationalist dangerous media article headlines and fire fueling hearsay fed to you all by those who seek drama and outrage at the expense of anyone who will react with them. The PBFSA would like to clear up any misconceptions and relieve the anxiety you all feel.
1: It is a petition folks, petitions happen all the time. There is no breed ban. A breed ban would have to go through the same process as any law that gets gazetted. Stop. Breathe. Stop lending your eyes and ears to those who have no idea of what is happening.
2: Owning a pit bull is not against the law. Nobody may remove your pit bull if your dog is safely contained in your garden, if your pit bull has not attacked anyone and you are responsible. KEEP your dog.
3: The SPCA is not removing peoples pets. The dogs surrendered were either dogs who had owners who were not coping, problem dogs, dogs living in unsuitable conditions or dogs who had their lives threatened. Please stop spreading hype and misinformation. Please support the organisations who have offered to get surrendered dogs to safety. If you are not coping phone your local SPCA they will help
4: We have been in meetings and discussions with key role players to avert a ban and find a solution that benefits everyone.
So what next?
1: READ all articles not the headline.
2: familiarise yourselves with the content of our posts, podcasts and news articles, everything you need to know as to why we are here is in there.
3: AVOID heated debates, attacks, and dramatic posts. The people claiming to know actually do not know. We will keep updates coming as they are available.
The future of the pit bull hinges on how we all proceed.
Members of this group kindly read and follow the link to get yourself onto the database. We need the numbers in order to speak with a united voice, 700 petitions not to ban the breed with 100 signatures each will bring us nowhere. For those in Namibia that have already registered, a very big thank you. I know who those are.
Due to calls for us to also do a petition we had a meeting on Sunday with our whole board and the decision was made to open entry onto our database to all owners. If we are going to take any kind of action, we will need to be able to back our claims that will represent every responsible pitbull and pit bull cross owner.
What many do not know is we have a databse that has been running for years, and we currently have many responsible owners on there who do not breed or show.
Please follow the link, consider the benefits, and join us.
