TNR (Trap Neuter and Return) updates 🐾

A big day in the field! Our volunteers successfully trapped 7 cats (5 females and 2 males) as part of our ongoing TNR mission 💪🏼

They may not look thrilled in their temporary cages (we get it — spa day wasn't on their calendar 😹), but each one is now on their way to a healthier, happier life, and helping prevent dozens of future litters.

Thank you to everyone supporting this effort. Every cat counts. 💛

➡️ If you want to make a donation, even 5€ or 10€, don’t hesitate : https://donorbox.org/kalymnos-cat-project

Thanks for them 💙

Chora’s little lions need you ! 🦁

Tucked away on the sun-drenched island of Kalymnos 🇬🇷, in the quiet village of Chora, lives a colony of cats — dozens of curious eyes, tiny paws, and rumbling purrs !

They gather every day for food 🍗, affection, and a little bit of hope. But their numbers are growing fast — too fast. Without help, many of these island souls face hunger, illness, and endless litters of kittens with no safe future 😢

✨ This is where you come in.
We’re raising funds to spay and neuter these cats — to give them healthier, safer lives, and to stop the cycle of suffering!
Just a small donation can mean a world of difference 💛

➡️ Let’s show Chora’s cats that they’re not forgotten : https://donorbox.org/kalymnos-cat-project

Thanks a lot for them ! 🙏🏼

TNR Update 🐾

10 cats were trapped and sterilised this week, all males!
🐱 9 were from near Villa Melina in Pothia
🐱 1 from Myrties

When we returned to release them, we saw many more cats in need — so we’ll be back soon!

A HUGE thank you to the incredible volunteers involved in this mission 😻😻
Catching the cats, transporting them to the vet, staying with them as they wake up, and returning them safely to their territory: it’s a multi-day effort requiring dedication and care 🙏🏼

Each sterilisation costs around €50, so any contribution helps us continue this important work. If you want to help us : https://donorbox.org/kalymnos-cat-project

Kalymnos Cat Project – Villa Melina TNR Initiative 👍🏻

A colony of around 10 stray cats has been spotted feeding from bins near the Villa Melina Hotel in Pothia 📍

These cats are unneutered and at risk of reproducing quickly, which increases suffering and puts strain on local resources.

We are currently in the process of TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) to help manage this colony humanely and responsibly. Trapping efforts are underway over the past few days, and we'll share updates very soon 😍

Thank you for your support – every action helps make a difference for Kalymnos’ cats! If you want to donate : https://donorbox.org/kalymnos-cat-project

Thanks for them 💙

🐾 Meet Rufus – A gentle soul from Kalymnos 🐾

This is Rufus, a gentle soul rescued on the island of Kalymnos, where a kind-hearted volunteer is taking wonderful care of him 💖

Rufus suffers from a chronic mouth condition that requires a cortisone injection about once a month to keep him comfortable and pain-free – a small routine that makes a huge difference in his quality of life 🙏🏼

Despite everything, Rufus is incredibly sweet and patient. He even takes his baths like a champ, never complaining, as if he knows it’s all done with love to help him stay clean and feel better !

He’s a quiet fighter, full of trust and gratitude, and a perfect example of resilience.

Let’s send Rufus all the love and support he deserves – and a big thank you to the amazing volunteer who gives him the care and dignity every animal deserves 💛

On a sun-drenched path ☀️ of the tiny Greek island of Telendos, this black beauty lies still, watching the world go by with quiet dignity.

Her tipped ear is not a sign of injury — it’s a badge of honor. She’s one of many who have been trapped, neutered, and returned (TNR) as part of our project 🤩

Thanks to tireless volunteers and local support, hundreds of street cats are now safer, healthier, and no longer multiplying in harsh conditions 🙏🏼

But the work is far from over. Every sterilization costs money, and every euro helps prevent future suffering 💰
We’re not just saving lives — we’re building a future where every cat can stretch out in the sun without fear 🥹

🌿 Help us continue. Share if you care. Donate if you can: https://donorbox.org/kalymnos-cat-project

Thanks 💙

This cat was rescued with severe damage to his ears caused by skin cancer — a common condition in white or light-colored cats who spend a lot of time in the sun ☀️

He also had several painful teeth that needed to be removed.

He underwent surgery recently, and after some time in recovery, he has now been released and is doing really well. As you can see from the before and after photos, the transformation is incredible! 👏🏻

A heartfelt thank you to Helen for taking such loving care of him during his healing journey ❤️‍🔥

Sadly, many other cats still need urgent medical attention, safety, and support. Every act of kindness — whether through donations or spreading the word — helps us continue this vital work.

From the shadows to a bright new life – Milla’s journey ✨

At the end of January, Milla was first spotted hiding under a car 🚗 in the Skalia area – a completely blind young feral cat, trying to survive in a world that had suddenly become dark and frightening.
Thanks to our project and our amazing local volunteers, she was taken in to be spayed 🙏🏼

Not long after, a kind-hearted woman in Finland saw our post about Milla and didn’t hesitate for a second – she offered to adopt her and give her the loving home she so deserved 🥰😍

When Milla arrived in our care, she was understandably scared and cautious. Her blindness was still new, and she had to learn to navigate her world all over again. But little by little, she revealed her quiet strength and her gentle soul. Over the past few months, she has blossomed into the most affectionate and playful cat, loving cuddles and grooming time 🤩

A heartfelt thank you to Helen, who welcomed Milla with patience, compassion, and care during this crucial time. Your love and dedication made all the difference 🤗😻

Milla will fly from Kos to Berlin on June 13, accompanied by a kind flight es**rt. Her new family will meet her there and take her the rest of the way home to Finland.

From hiding under a car to a future full of warmth and love – safe travels, sweet Milla 🩵

This is Athena – a sweet, gentle, and loving cat who lives outdoors in a cat colony in Myrties, Kalymnos 🇬🇷, along with Cleopatra and about 15–20 other cats. She adores attention and affection, and always welcomes a kind hand or a friendly voice 🤗

Recently, Athena disappeared for several days and returned thinner than before 😥
We’re not sure where she went or what she experienced, but it was a worrying time and a reminder of how vulnerable outdoor cats can be…

➡️ We're now looking for sponsors to help support Athena. Sponsorship helps cover her food 🍱 and flea/tick treatments and ensures she stays safe and healthy. Every little bit makes a difference 🙏🏼

If you’d like to sponsor Athena (or even adopt her!), we’d be happy to share regular updates and photos of her sweet little face 🥰

📌 To donate: https://donorbox.org/kalymnos-cat-projectPlease mention Athena in the notes. Thank you so much 🌼

"Yeah, my ear’s clipped — it’s my badge of honor." ✌🏼

Meet one of Kalymnos’ many street charmers — neutered, healthy, and living his best (outdoor) life 🙏🏼

That little ear tip? It’s how we know he’s been sterilised and won’t be contributing to the cycle of suffering so many stray cats face.

He may not live inside a house, but thanks to your support, he’s got freedom, safety, and dignity. 😻

Thanks 💙
