✨ Look at this little sweetheart! ✨

This adorable kitten is one of the many cats we've helped through the Kalymnos Cat Project 🐾💛
While this cutie still calls the streets of Kalymnos home, we’ve been working tirelessly to care for the island’s stray cats—through feeding 🥓, medical care 👩🏼‍⚕️, and sterilization programs to ensure a healthier future for them all.

Every life matters, and your support helps us make a real difference. Want to help? Follow us, share our mission, or consider donating to support our ongoing efforts. Together, we can give Kalymnos’ cats a better tomorrow. 💕

The past few days have been incredibly intense for the Kalymnos Cat Project team! 😻

These photos 📸 were taken just a few days ago, and since then, we’ve been working around the clock to spay and neuter over 30 cats per day.

This effort is crucial in keeping the stray cat population healthy and preventing countless unwanted litters.

We're so proud of our team and grateful for the support that allows us to continue this mission. 👏🏻

Follow us to see more of our journey to protect and care for the cats of Kalymnos! 🐱🇬🇷

At Kalymnos Cat Project, we’re training our cats to feel comfortable eating inside cages without any stress or pressure 🙏🏼.

By letting them enjoy meals 🥓 in the cages without closing the door, we help them associate these spaces with safety and food.

This way, when the time comes for their eventual capture and care, they feel less fearful, making the process smoother and less stressful for both the cats and our team. 👍🏻

Fingers crossed for Johanna 🤞🏼

We’ll keep you updated on her progress, hoping the surgery is successful and that she can get back to living her life fully.

Don’t hesitate to help us, Johanna and all the other Kalymnian cats 🐱 : https://donorbox.org/kalymnos-cat-project 🙏🏼

Johanna is active, eats like a shark and is the cutest cat ever. The paw is now in the correct position, but still swollen. She is on antibiotics and we hope that it improves. The problem is that soft tissue, tendons etc. are still not adapted to the new position of the paw and it is somewhat uncertain whether sufficient blood circulation can be obtained. Fingers crossed… 🤞

Some news from Johanna, the black kitten with the problem to her leg 🙏🏼

The clinic in Munich think that Johanna’s paw was not broken, but that it is a malformation. the joint is not only in the wrong angle, but also rotated internally. it cannot stay as it is, since she will get an open wound which is always subject to inflammation and infection when she grows and gets heavier .The clinic team already had a conference regarding Johanna’s case before our appointment. their proposal is to implant wires which will stay for a couple of weeks and gradually bend and rotate the paw in the desired direction by regularly tightening the wires. thus, the approach would be similar to dental braces for kids. they think that it will not be too painful or distracting for Johanna, because they will put on a bandage which will allow her to walk and move more or less normally. in fact, she should move and walk as much as possible in order to learn using her paw. for a cat this is an experimental therapy, but it is known and done for dogs. She has an appointment for tomorrow, because it should be done asap.
Please note that Johanna is fortunate in that she has captured so many people's hearts and has sponsors funding her treatment. The Kalymnos Cat Project could not spend so much on one cat when there are so many that need help. Please donate if you can, so we can continue to help as many cats as possible. Thank you.🐾

Meet our adorable Greek kittens from the island of Kalymnos! ❤️

These sweet little ones were rescued from the streets by our dedicated team, and we are now looking for loving homes for them in France 🇫🇷, Germany 🇩🇪 , and Switzerland 🇨🇭.

If you're on vacation in Kalymnos and fall in love with one of these kittens, you can even take one home with you! 🙏🏼

Contact us, and we’ll help you through the process to ensure your new furry friend can join you on your journey.

💰 We urgently need donations to continue our vital work of sterilizing cats to prevent the birth of more kittens, as well as to care for these little ones. Your contributions will help us cover food 🥓, veterinary care 👩🏼‍⚕️, and transportation costs (by boat 🛥️ and plane ✈️ ) to their new homes : https://donorbox.org/kalymnos-cat-project

Although our main goal is to sterilize stray cats 🐱, not to facilitate adoptions, it’s impossible not to fall for these kittens and cats, who truly deserve a better life than the one they have on the island. 🙏🏼
For several months, our dedicated volunteers have been organizing adoptions for these cats in Europe. It’s a complex operation that involves significant costs 💰, including veterinary care, boat, and plane transport ✈️.

Leslie is planning to bring between 10 and 20 cats to France in November, depending on the circumstances.
Until then, she has set up enclosures in Kalymnos to house and care for the kittens, ensuring they are safe and healthy before they can make the journey to their new homes.
The construction of these enclosures took several days of hard work by our volunteers, ensuring the cats are well cared for before they can travel to their new homes. 🙏🏼😍

A video 🎥 is coming soon to introduce the other enclosure.

➡️ We urgently need donations, not only to cover the cost of food and medical care for all these cats, but also to support the massive sterilization campaign that is about to begin. Your help is vital to ensure we can continue our efforts and give these animals a better chance at life. 🙏🏼🙏🏼

A beautiful solidarity chain for our Greek kittens from the Kalymnos Cat Project! 🇬🇷

They stayed in foster care with Kalliope in Kalymnos for several weeks, and then she brought them with her to Athens when she returned home, as it is easier to find transportation ✈️ from Athens than from Kalymnos.
Yesterday, she spent the entire day preparing their trip!
Veterinarian 👩🏼‍⚕️, purchasing travel bags (at 5 pet shops to find everything needed!), heading to the airport… Thank you to her 🥰

Thanks also to Sébastien and Maria who flew with the 4 kittens to Montpellier ✈️, paid for their flight, and will drive them to Marseille at the end of the week where the next part of the chain continues…

Thank you to Régine and Patrick who will pick them up in Marseille and take them to Biot to their foster family, and thank you to Marine and her family for welcoming these babies 🥰❤️

Thanks, of course, to everyone who offered their help and to all those who support the Kalymnos Cat Project on a daily basis 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 and a big thank you to LESLIE, our dear president, without whom none of this would be possible 🥺

➡️ For your information, we are an association focused on TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return). All the grants from foundations are used for TNR, but we need donations to sponsor the adoption and new lives of these kittens (food and vet bills in foster care, transportation to airports, flights, etc.—which costs about €400 per kitten).

To be continued… 👍🏻

🙏🏻🐶🕯️ 5 dogs POISONED - Paws of Kalymnos 🙏🏻🐶🕯️

The team of the Kalymnos Cat Project wants to express their sincere sympathy for the volunteers and the dogs of Paws of Kalymnos after learning about the atrocious and cowardice act of poisoning 5 dogs who were soon to be adopted !!! ☹️🥺😞

These dogs were rescued and placed in their dog shelter. They were out of the streets and supposed to be in what is considered to be a safe place.
Despite this, Effi, Emmi, Ilia, Perla and Xenia were purposely poisoned and these precious sentient beings died in excruciating pain because some sort of evil person felt the need to do so ☠️🐶💔

Please, help them honour those 5 lovely souls by helping them raise money to build a more secure shelter. It is now vital to act quickly, to avoid any further killings. You can help by donating on link below 💰🐶🙏🏻: https://gofund.me/3d10e249

Here is this gorgeous ginger cat 🧡, freshly neutered this past weekend in Kalymnos, alongside several other cats.
He’s now recovering well and ready to enjoy a healthier life.

📸 More photos of the other cats from the weekend’s sterilization campaign will be coming soon!

Stay tuned for updates on him and his fellow feline friends! And remember to make a small donation to help our project, sterilizing a cat costs around 50€ 💰: https://donorbox.org/kalymnos-cat-project

Happy Belated Birthday to Brigitte Bardot! 🥳

We may be a day late, but our gratitude and admiration for Brigitte Bardot are timeless! We want to take this moment to express our deepest gratitude to the Fondation Brigitte Bardot their incredible support of our project to help the cats of Kalymnos 🐱.

Thanks to the foundation’s commitment to animal welfare, we’ve been able to make a real difference for these vulnerable animals. 🙏🏼

We wish Brigitte Bardot all the best and many more wonderful years ahead. Thank you for being a voice for the voiceless! 😍

« Hello from Kalymnos! 👋🏼🇬🇷

I’m one of the many cats 🐱 living here on this beautiful island, but life isn’t always easy. You see, I’m not sterilized yet, and that means I’m constantly getting into fights with other cats over territory and, well, other things. It’s stressful and exhausting, and I’m always at risk of getting hurt. 😢

But I’ve heard some good news ‼️ There’s a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) campaign coming up this autumn, and I’m waiting with excitement. Once I’m sterilized, I won’t have to fight anymore, and life will be so much more peaceful. I can’t wait for that day to come! 😻

Until then, I’m holding on, hoping the kind humans will help make this happen. We need your support to make sure all of us here can get the care we need. 🙏🏼

Thank you for thinking of us! ❤️ »

Help needed to continue our work 🙏🏼🚨

Last year, in 2023, we managed to raise more than 22000€, and with the cost of sterilizing a single cat being around €50 -not including additional medical care 💊- we were able to make a real difference.
However, this year, we have only raised around 15000€ so far, which is just enough to sterilize 300 cats 🐱. Yet, since the beginning of the year, we have already sterilized over 550 cats, and the year is far from over !

Over the summer, donations barely reached more than €1,000 per month, which is not enough to meet our goals 😢.
Leslie will be traveling to Kalymnos in October to sterilize as many cats as possible, but without more donations, we won’t be able to continue this critical work… 😢

Every little bit helps, and we greatly appreciate your support in any way you can contribute 🙏🏼
