*Available for adoption through ACCT Philly*

Meet Watercress! This handsome fella is almost 5 months old. He is the last of his liter available for adoption. His siblings; Lettuce, Cabbage, and Spinach all have been adopted. Don’t you think it’s Watercress’s turn? I sure do. Watercress was sitting at the shelter with his siblings, before reached out and got into foster placement. Since the foster picked him and siblings up; he’s been social, playful, pet-friendly, and have great liter manners. Watercress is very independent and friendly. He’s also beyond chill. He loves the laser light or anything that rolls infront of him and that his eyes— he’ll chase! He’s very friendly, but also values his alone time. 🐾

If you’re interested in adopting Watercress (ACCT-A-113812) please reach out to Alexis Komilo for an adoption form! 🐾💕

Some of you know our friend Sarah Isabella so you may know of Winslow and Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteers, Inc.

⚠️Please read⚠️

Winslow was a stray who came into Furrever Friends in Spring 2021. Sadly, last night Winslow was brought to a Veterinary Hospital after not eating/drinking for 2 days. After being unable to recover from a surgery to remove a bowel obstruction, he passed away with his long-term foster family by his side.
Winslow was fully vetted which included; evaluation, neutering, vaccinations, micro-chipping, and combo testing. His results came back FeLV negative, and FIV positive. For those of you who don’t know: FIV is short for Feline Immunodeficiency virus (comparable to HIV). FIV weakens the immune system and there is no cure.

Winslow never let his diagnosis get him down. He loved snuggling, being chatty, playing, and even did amazing with children. Winslow was a happy and (mostly) healthy 4 year old.
Winslow’s medical bills have totaled over $5,000. Our friends at FFRV are in need of help. If you’re able to contribute in honor of Winslow, they would be beyond appreciative. Any amount helps! 🐈‍⬛💕 Link below.

Furrever Friends Rescue and Volunteer is all-volunteer, private no-kill animal 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. If you’re interested in seeing what they do, check out the website at Ffrescue.org.

🚨🚨 FOSTER NEEDED 🚨 🚨

Hey friends! I have a woman who is at a shelter & is pregnant. She is going into a program that can end early, but at max is 15 months long. They called into the rescue to see if we have any availability to take in this iguana but sadly we cannot take them in due to the ban.(In Flordia; Jessie is our Flordia Division, with alchemy rescue & sanctuary). Is there anyone out there willing to foster / babysit this iguana for up to 15mo? Given her situation, I do not believe there will be any compensation, so she just needs some good luck from a Good Samaritan. Please message us, or Alchemy Rescue & Sanctuary if you’re able to foster for this lady. Thank you!

Location Elberta, AL, willing to travel to foster 💕

Today marks 3 months, and 2 weeks that I’ve owned Iris. That is exactly 106 days. Iris came to me from a friend of mine, Andy. Andy rescued her from a situation that wasn’t fit. Andy then realized the care for chameleons is extremely hard. With this realization, Andy did the responsible thing and rehomed her. Luckily, my Friend Mitch tagged me in Andy’s post. Within a day, Andy transported Iris to me. Iris was weak, and beyond fragile. Iris also has a disability, known as Metabolic bone disease (MBD) which is a result of a calcium phosphorus imbalance in which causes weakness is the skeletal structures (commonly affects the frontal arms of reptiles and amphibians.) Due to Iris’s disability which resulted in; weakness, the loss of bone density and strength she had to live in a hospital bin to deter from falling and breaking or injuring her limbs anymore than they already were. Within the last 106 days, I’ve dedicated my time to strengthening Iris up by supplying her with proper UVB and heating/lighting as well as proper vitamin and calcium dusting.

Within the last 3 months, and 2 weeks, Iris had done exactly what I’d hope she do. She’s regained strength, and bone density. She is finally lively, and will eat any and all bugs in site. She used to only eat Crickets. She’s gained weight, and for her age is finally at a weight that is healthy. For all of this, I’m beyond thankful.

The most exciting part is that today, Iris was able to finally be converted into her normal up-right cage. Iris is no longer in a hospital bin! Iris continues to impress me everyday.

I’m more than happy I was able to give her the home she deserves! The following pictures are before and afters of her and her enclosure. 🦖💕

Good afternoon everyone! We hope that everyone and their scaley babies are doing amazing! 🦖💕

On March 27th, I (NJ division) adopted a crested gecko from Pet supplies plus in cherry hill! The crested gecko, Pinto, is hatchling size so he is very tiny. Hatchling and baby crested geckos require a 6 quart tub/enclosure to ensure they’re able to find their food. After growing, they’re to be transferred into a grow out or adult tank. 🦖💕

On top of the amazing news about Pinto, ECRO is expanding and now has a crested gecko information group! This group is for beginner owners, advanced owners, etc!

Good morning Everyone! We wanted to take a second to introduce you to our newest intake, Suzie the Hermit crab! 🐚🦀

Suzie is a Female purple pincher hermit crab.
Suzie is a product of being wild caught, and sold at shops found on the shore. Hermit crabs are hard to breed in captivity. Due to them not being easy to breed, they’re commonly wild caught and shipped over seas. Despite them being hard to breed in captivity, Mary Akers is the ONLY successful hermit crab breeder! 🦀🐚

Suzie was once a class pet that wasn’t getting the attention or care she needed. She was taken out of that Scenario, and was looking for a new home! Suzie was from Elmira/Corning New York, and was shipped to us (Safely, despite her delay) in New Jersey! 🦀🐚

If you’re interested in seeing more updates on Suzie; give our page a like, and join ECRO: Hermit crab husbandry (https://www.facebook.com/groups/327625865707510/) to receive more updates on all of our hermit crabs!! 🐚🦀

A year ago today, I brought home my malnourished and neglected girl, Charmander. In a year, Charmander has made a complete turn around!! 🦖

A family friend tagged me in a post about Charmander, and I could not pass her up. The post explained how she (previous owner) bought Charmander for her son who grew out of the gecko over the years, and he just stopped caring for her. I immediately inquired about her. It took about 2 weeks for the lady to get back to me (due to other people saying they’ll Take her but never showed— so when she got back to me, I was next up). I of course said absolutely I’ll take her and I’ll actually show up. So I did exactly that, I picked her and her supplies up. She was living in an a 10 gallon with moldy (and very stinky) reptile carpet, with one hide and a water bowl/food bowl that appeared to never been cleaned in the FOUR years of owning her. Disregarding the horrific tank itself, Charmander was not the healthiest gecko at first. Charmander was malnourished, pale, and she couldn’t even lift her head up on her own. She also didn’t have any toes due to improper care (the reptile carpet and not having a shedding aid). It was so bad that we personally didn’t think she was going to make it. 🦖🥺

Today, Charmander turned FIVE years old! Charmander now has bright orange coloration, she can also move on her own and lift her head on her own! She’s even laid infertile eggs now that she’s in proper care!! Charmander absolutely goes crazy for bugs and is thriving, now that she’s in proper care!

Happy 5th “birth”day my precious rescue baby 💕🦖
