Cords have dropped, so time for tubs! Not quite the smallest baby I've had, but still very tiny. The other one is... well, I'm sure it's normal, but it's super dark with a somewhat weird looking belly compared to any other baby I've had? I guess we'll see what happens once it's grown a bit.

Only two babies from Carmine's first clutch, and one more than I was expecting. The albino's egg looked terrible, it deflated and started moulding a couple of weeks after being laid, but surprise! It does look very small, but we'll see when it's fully out. Not enough of the bigger one out yet to tell for sure if it's normal or axanthic. I'm hoping for the latter, because it's the only flavour I haven't got yet!

Apologies for the lack of... well, anything lately! We've just bought a house that needs a complete renovation, so I haven't really had time for much else, and any selling has been put on hold until we've moved. Last year's babies are all doing well, trying to eat anything that moves, and the slow growers are starting to catch up.

Here's the male snow demonstrating why I'm not giving anyone else soil substrate...

This is Potato, so named because he was a very... rotund baby. He's got an interesting head stamp and seems to have a half red tongue? Unfortunately I got a bit attached to him early on so he'll be staying with me!

It's taken some time (and she's still not blessed in the brains department) but the female snow is finally eating well and growing. She's got some catching up to do, but she only started at 3g, so I'm very happy with her progress!

The female snow is still very small, but at least she seems enthusiastic about eating now.

Assist feeding babies is a slow, frustrating process- you go two steps forward, then another one back... This little guy has gone from force feeding mouse legs to assist feeding pinks. He's started to grow, slowly, and he mostly gets the idea of eating, but needs a bit of prompting to start. We had a bit of a disagreement today, but he calmed down eventually and swallowed the pink by himself.

Haven't had much time to update recently, but today the babies have had their first proper weighing session. Took a quick picture of biggest (14g) vs. smallest (3.4g)- guess which one still won't eat by himself...

Success! This little one has graduated from assist feeding to eating off tongs! It's been a long and difficult process, but it's motivation to carry on with the others who still don't know how to eat by themselves.

Getting big! Some of the other babies are already over 10g, but they wouldn't sit still. Considering how small they were at hatching, I'm definitely happy with their progress.
