What can I say 2020 has been a strange, challenging and difficult year.

Like most people I have missed my family, friends and seeing people I love who aren’t in the UK.

I cried a lot in the beginning then found creativity saved my sanity. DontLookDesigns has made 2020 a year to remember for good reasons.

I turned my hobby into a business and it has provided me so much joy in such difficult times. Selling stuff was never the motivation. I had to sell to make space for new creations.

I have spent the majority of 2020 in my workshop (was the spare room) and it reignited my joy for making stuff. Finding people who like my creations has been a massive surprise and beautiful added bonus.

Feel so grateful for everyone who has supported me. My husband who has been woken at 5am by the sound of tape wrapping boxes to send to customers. Who would feed and water me when I was so busy I would forget.

My family who always support me even if they don’t get it and think my art is weird. My nieces for teaching an old dog new tricks on social media.

My friends for their kind words and support.

My beautiful customers and network of fabulous artists I have connected with online. I have found my people.

Shops might be shut but my necklaces are stocked in a boutique and about to send lamps to be stocked in Amsterdam.

I’m looking forward to what 2021 brings.

Sending love and goodwill to everyone for the future, let’s hope we can get a grip on this pandemic and able to spend time with our loved ones again and dance with strangers.

Toy Soldiers - Make Love Not War

Finished this piece today on Remembrance Sunday, reflecting on the millions upon millions of precious lives lost at war.

If we exercise humility, acceptance, respect, empathy and love for others we can hopefully find alternatives to war in the future.
