Merry Christmas to Karen and her staff at Pet Valu Pickering as they celebrate 🥳 together tonight. We ❤️ Karen so much and wish to express our gratitude to a wonderful woman who supports animal rescue in so many ways!! ❤️ ❤️❤️ We were overwhelmed by the donations collected and a bottle drive done by this wonderful small business owner and all her amazing staff !! PLEASE SHARE AND HELP MILA FIND HER FOREVER HOME

Mila is a very fun and outgoing 18-month mixed terrier breed. She is a very athletic and dainty little girl. She would happily enjoy a good hike but also loves a nice quiet walk around the neighborhood.
Mila would love to live with another playful dog. Running and playing are two of her favourite things. She hasn’t interacted with any children but I suspect she would be fine with older, dog savvy kids.
Mila is crate and house trained. She has a medium- high energy level and does need a fair amount of stimulation. Mila is very smart and is picking up leash training very easily, and she has tons of potential to go in any direction with her training. At the end of a long day of playtime, Mila loves to curl up on your lap and cuddle. She loves affection and it’s very clear she would love to have a family to share all her love with.

RUN FREE LITTLE ONE – RILEY
Riley was adopted in December 2018 at the age of 8 years old. Riley recently crossed over the rainbow bridge. From Riley’s mom:

“Riley never really became a “dog” in the sense of playfulness, cuddling and engaging. She became something more. Riley pushed me to be a better human. I patiently became better at understanding anxiety, unconditional love, respect for boundaries and acknowledging that we all are different. When she did allow me to hold her, we had a connection that was equally respected and peaceful. I cherish those moments. She loved nothing more than a spot by herself on the couch. She just wanted to be able to see me or my husband. I will miss my shadow and the way she would greet me if we were apart for 10 seconds.
I will miss her tongue sticking out once all her teeth were gone. Her brown eyes that would stare at me constantly. I will miss her silky coat. Most of all her ability to give and receive love.”

LOYAL Rescue sends our deepest condolences to Riley’s family. Rest in peace little one.

PLEASE SHARE AND HELP SUZY FIND HER FOREVER HOME!

Suzy would make a perfect addition to a home with a somewhat playful dog. She’s a typical young dog and enjoys romping outdoors & going for walks. She has this super cute way of leaping & turning in circles, when she gets excited! When it comes to human touch, Suzy’s still a bit shy but delights in giving her humans quick little dog kisses (licks). She is learning to trust her people & allows us to pick her up & really enjoys sleeping with us. She doesn’t like to be alone but is learning to settle when we leave her. She is so excited when we return! Suzy’s been quick to learn her name, walking on a leash & is beginning to engage with toys. She’s very interested in her environment. Stair climbing & toilet training are well underway but needs encouragement & a companion dog, to show her the way. Suzy would do best in a home with a patient family who is willing to continue her training & a relatively young, calm, yet playful dog companion. She will also need a securely fenced yard to continue her house training and have a safe play area.

Hey who loves the perfectly imperfect looking dog? You know the unique looking dog that won’t look like any other dog in your neighbourhood. You know the kind of dog where my fur will decide what it wants to do on any given day. Well if I sparked your interest then look no further because my name is Foxy and I just so happen to be looking for my very own p*eps that may or may not be perfectly imperfect themselves because I wouldn’t mind that at all!

My first couple of years of my life was downright rough. I was left on my own to figure out where my next meal was coming from. I’m letting you know this, not that I want you to feel sorry for me but so you will know why it may take me a minute to get to know you and other dogs before I’m able to trust the situation. I used to have to figure these things out on my own, so my first defense is to be cautious in new situations.

I’m looking for a home where there is already a well balanced dog to show me what a wonderful home you have and to play with. Once I get to know a dog I love engaging in play with them. Want to see my tail wag bring out treats, it helps me a lot to warm up to you.

I‘ll let you in on a little secret; I have an ultra ego named Foxy Lady and I’m waiting for someone to come to get me! Is the song stuck in your head now? I hope it will help you to remember to put an application in for this one sweet Foxy Lady! This girl isn’t asking for too much am I?

Hey to all those poodle lovers out there, Chelsea here.

I’m a very sweet girl, who has experienced a tough past life but let’s not dwell on my past too much because I’m really looking forward to my future of being in a very loving home. I’m very proud on how many things I have already accomplished, I’m quite an eager learner. I have mastered the stairs; I love joining you out for a walk; I even sit to get my harness on and off; I use p*e pads but I also go to the washroom in the backyard; and on the last note I love sleeping on dog beds.

I’m always ready to go whenever you are, I take this responsibility to be your companion very seriously; I will accompany you wherever you go in the house, always waiting for your next move. I’m very interested when you are in the kitchen, whether you are cooking or getting my food ready, I will sit and watch you very patiently hoping you will give me a treat.

Because of my past, I’m shy when I meet new people. Having a well balanced companion dog helps me to be more comfortable in approaching new people and situations. I trust they will show me how great people really are. Maybe my new companion would love to play with me too!

Ringo was adopted in 2015. He lived an amazing life full of love – he was everything to his parents. Recently Ringo crossed over the rainbow bridge at the age of 13 years old.

ROCKY'S STORY This is the story about my first Loyal Rescue dog Rocky. Rocky was seven years old when he was released from a puppy mill. He looked like he had never been groomed, had only five teeth and his paws had probably never touched grass. His fur was a mess of mats and snarls. His foster mama Sue got him groomed and all cleaned up. She described Rocky as a little gentleman because he was so quiet and just sat still wherever you placed him. When we brought him home to our house he was a scared little monkey. He would back up until he couldn't go further if people approached him. After several months spending time with his then companion dog Heidi, he began to trust us. Rocky was only seven pounds but his personality grew so big! He owned every room he walked into. Rocky inspired us to become foster parents and after one year we took in our first foster dog. It's worse than potato chips because once you get started you just can't stop! When Rocky was fourteen we had to make that super hard decision and we let him go in peace. We will never forget that little man.
