Cudi, the cool dude, is chilling with his foster sister and ASTDR alumni, Luna (formerly known as Zahra).
Cudi is a heeler/dachshund mix, born on April 20th - talk about a birthday party! This guy is all caught up with his vet visits (and he's been neutered, so no more wild adventures for him). He's going to be a medium-sized fella when he's all grown up and he's already a pro at hanging out in his crate and using a pee pad - what a smart cookie! Cudi is rocking it with his potty training too, he's a real champ. He's great with kids, dogs of all sizes, and will probably be a real sweetheart with kitties too, as long as they get a proper introduction. Watch out world, Cudi is on the scene and ready to steal some hearts!

Sundays are perfect for a day of play! Our stunning S litter is still looking for their forever homes!
Knox is coming in hot! We just welcomed this handsome dachshund mix to ASTDR! He will be looking for his forever home soon!
Mama Cauliflower had a long day yesterday 😅 and so did her wonderful foster mom.
Cauli went into labor around 10:30 yesterday morning and was going until about 11pm. Slow and steady wins the race! Cauli welcomed 12 beautiful puppies into the world. Great Dane puppies are born big already! Everyone weighs over a pound and is healthy so far. Mama is resting and her foster family is keeping a close eye on her. We will formally introduce all the puppies soon and start an Amazon wishlist for anyone who would like to help contribute to this beautiful litter.
Welcome to earth side kiddos!

Happy National Puppy Day from Halo and her litter!
We have not received one application to bring Bolt home!
Bolt is a 1 year old Mixed breed dog (primary breed being Great Pyrenees according to Embark DNA test ran by litter mate). He was adopted out by us as a puppy and returned a couple months ago. He has since been hanging out with our trainer working on confidence and obedience. Bolt is good with other dogs with proper integration. He is good with kids, as long as they are old and polite enough to recognize when to give him a little space. Bolt’s boundaries were not respected by children in his previous home, so this is important. We are unsure how he is with cats, as he has never lived with them. Bolt loves a good game of fetch but he also knows how to play independently. He enjoys going on walks and is great on a leash, he would make a perfect hiking buddy! Bolt can be slow to meet people, but with a little bit of time, he warms up. He won’t ever be the type that will be comfortable going to big events or overly social demanding situations. Bolt is house broken and crate trained. He also has professional obedience training. Overall, Bolt is a fun, happy boy and we know his forever home is out there!
If you would like to welcome Bolt home, please visit our website and fill out an application.

We wanted to say thank you to everyone that messaged and commenting regarding Sarge! He is settling in wonderfully and already learning new things!
Today his foster mama and him spent some one on one time, and he had his first game of fetch. His confidence is already starting to build up!
Yesterday our director received a plead for help from one of our rescue partners. These two young puppies were living in less than ideal conditions and required medical attention. At the time that we agreed to take them in, they both had enlarged and hard stomach and one of them was scooting instead of using her legs.
We geared up for potential large medical costs but we wanted to make sure that the puppies got what they needed and that the scooting puppy was seen.
Both puppies went to the vet and were given the full work up. Both babies have 4 different types of worms and parasites. It is very likely that if someone did not intervene, the puppies would have soon been depleted from nutrients and not survived.
They started medications needed and are feeling much better today. The scooting puppy found her legs and they started to play today! We are elated that their condition was not as bad as we originally geared up for!
These girls are only 4 weeks old, so they won’t be ready for their forever homes for quite some time, but in the meantime, Welcome to safety Rory and Emory!

It’s hard to believe that our Out of This World litter is officially two months old!
They went to the vet yesterday and everyone is healthy and will be ready to go to their forever homes next week!
What’s even harder to believe is that only 2 of these 8 puppies have excited families waiting for them!
