These two love each other 🥰 Sometimes I find Alex wanting some space and minding his own business, but these two are always together.

We have some updates I'll be sharing via Patreon in the next few days as we continue to get more information on certain situations.

Please welcome George to Broncs and Buns!

Okay so he's not technically a resident, but he landed in our tree and hasn't left since. So we are taking care of him.

Every morning he watches us feed everyone from the safety of his tree and I leave some food for him. Every night he bebops around the horse pasture while everyone goes about their business, as if George has always been a part of the fam.

He may not be a permanent resident, but for now we are taking care of him and I think he likes hanging out with us. 🐦

Without the rain there is no rainbow!

As much as the rain and Alex's fashionable mud boots make me crazy, moments like this give me peace knowing better days are coming. Warmer, sunnier, maybe a bit dryer. But not too dry! I'd like a good year for hay! 🙃

When I pulled in last night from working all day, I was greeted by a huge rainbow over the horses, who were munching hay after their dinner, thanks to my husband who does the most for me, and my kiddos playing in the rain shower we had last night.

Yes this rain sucks, yes it makes our job harder, but even for two second takes a step back and just appreciate this moment in time. Appreciate how far you have come and how exciting the future is!

March is my birthday month guys and I have one wish this year. To grow as a rescue!

I am turning 31 this year! Give me a little 🙌👏 if you're in the dirty thirties club with me!!

I have a few goals this year for my birthday and I'm hoping you guys can help make my birthday wish come true.

🎂 First up I want to get up to 31 supporters on our Patre0n! 🔗 Is in my bio! (We are at 15 right now)

🎂 Second I want to raise 3,100 to go towards fencing improvements!

🎂 Third I want to get our three buns Dill, Basil, and Lemon Balm and Alex sponsors! (Pending: lemon balm may have a sponsor) Do you get it 3🐇1🐴 I'm sticking with the number 31 lol

Can you help us get there? It's a big goal, but I believe we can do it!

🎉 My actual birthday is March 21st ♈🐏 but I'm gonna give us until April 21st to meet our goal because that was my mommoms birthday and she was such an incredible and important person in my life so it just feels right to celebrate hitting our goals on her birthday along with her amazing life.

Let's do this guys! I know I have some incredible people on here that can help us meet our goal! And on April 21st I'll meet you here to toast an amazing lady and amazing growth for our rescue! 💜🎂🐴🎉🐇♈

Yep that's Roger with one of his lady friends and some additional friends in the back there. These guys were busy looking for bugs yesterday while we cleaned up the pasture. Although they also scratch my piles around too, which was totally unhelpful. Regardless, we love them. Roger is the top dog in the coop and keeps the other roosters in line.

How he ended up at Broncs and Buns is an interesting one. There is a farm stand not far from my house on a rather busy road (especially in the summer) and one day my dude Roger just showed up. He stayed there all summer eating all the fresh fruit and veggies he wanted and had a good life. But as the summer was coming to an end the stand was going to close, there wouldn't be anyone to feed Roger. Not to mention he didn't fully grasp that he had to get out of the way when a car was coming. So they called me and we welcomed him home.

He is a true rooster through and through. He protects his family, but he will whoop their ass when needed. He doesn't tolerate any inter coop fighting lol. We are so happy he's here! 💜

Aren't these babies pretty at sunrise on a chilly day!

Now that I've got your attention...we need your help!! 🙃 We are getting another load of hay on Sunday and getting ready for spring shots, teeth floats, and planning for some much needed upgrades for the fencing and shelters. I know these are boring, but they are needed to keep our guys happy, healthy, and safe. These things add up quickly, let alone the regular feed runs every week, let me tell ya these horses can put away some food! Hey Broncs and Buns fam! Guess what!?! Broncs and Buns was presented with an award from Rancho Relaxo! We were given the Rancho Relaxo's rescue partner of the year award!

How amazing is that?! It's our FIRST award! And I promise it won't be our last.

Although it is bittersweet, given the circumstances that brought us together that Sunday in the summer, to save all those lives and mourn those we couldn't. It made us stronger, more resilient, and gave us a community we know we can rely on. It made us hyper aware of the signs of neglect, although it's not fun, it's something we need in this life and something we won't forget.

Thank you Caitlin and Len, for thinking of Broncs and Buns when deciding who deserved an award. Congratulations to the other rescues who received an award, and to Len for being an absolute MVP at Rancho this year! 💜

Throwback to a young bunny named Dill trying to break into the feed bin. She's a spicy bun for sure, but we love her even on her sassiest days!
