Can you tell me why what we do as a rescue is important? I want to hear your perspective in the comments please!
Here's why I think it's important.
Plain and simple, these horses that need a safe place, the ones tossed away, the ones no longer wanted, they don't deserve it.
I've heard it a million times, I've grown up hearing it... There's a reason they are at the auction.
Well yes there is. I won't argue with that. There is a reason.
They can't perform like they used to whether it be because of an injury, illness, age, or demeanor change, and their owner didn't want a horse they can't use. I get the thought process, especially in this economy. Some of you may think I'm harsh for saying that, but it's the reality of the situation in the horse industry.
But they don't deserve it. This is why rescue is important. These horses deserve a good home just as much as the next.
So here I am, along with so many other rescues, trying to stop the process. To educate people that don't understand what happens once they drop their child's old pony off at the sale. To help place horses in safe homes before they end up there. I'm trying. I feel like it's an uphill battle, but I know for those I've helped, I've changed their whole world and that helps. 🤍
