We’d love to still take advantage of the spot and have some real sweethearts who could use a bridge to their happy ever after! For more information reach out to us at [email protected]

Central Alberta!!

Oakley is looking for a retirement home and family to call her own. She is a seven-year-old purebred Jack Russell terrier who loves people and affection.

Oakley can be Dog selective, sometimes she befriends and other times she would rather not compete for affection. She is spayed and healthy, walks well on leash. Oakley is unsure of cats, so is best suited to a home without.

She weighs approximately 20 pounds but ideally should be around 18 pounds. She travels well, has no food sensitivities and is currently on a raw food diet.

If you think Oakley might find the retirement home of her dreams with you and you live in Central Alberta (Edmonton, Calgary, Red Deer) reach out to us at [email protected]

Emails only please, no messenger messages will be replied to.

Introducing Fergie, Flor and Francis - these black lab x? pups were born thanks to a kind woman who would feed their pregnant mamma who was hiding by a riverbank. The woman got sick and when she rushed back after a few days the puppies were born, and thankfully were taken to the safety of the SPCA PV sanctuary. They are healthy now and ready to find their very own families. We expect that they will be bigger dogs - maybe 55-60 lbs. They'd love to hear from you if you are interested in fostering or adopting at [email protected] or direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw

Introducing the Rainbow pups: Morada, Azul, Roja and Rosa. These young pups were dumped like garbage and had Parvo. They have been treated and are healthy and ready to start a real life. They will be smaller dogs - maybe 20 lbs? This mixed breed litter may be Pointer, Chihuahua and possibly even some collie. They are playful, goofy and smart. If you think you might have room for one of these cuties in your life, they'd love to hear from you. You can message us at [email protected] or go directly to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw (Please check your junk mail if you think we haven't responded)

The Charlie's Angels Pups!
These 3 lovely young ladies were dumped full of fleas and ticks to fend for themselves. Thankfully the SPCA PV took them in to give them their chance at a happy ever after. They've been a hit at the Saturday market, enjoying the exposure to people. They're good with dogs and even cats. They're playful, fun, smart AND gorgeous! One had some experience in a temporary foster home and house trained within days. They are now ready to fly to their happy ever after. Message us, email [email protected], or go direct to our application: https://forms.office.com/r/b1Fkq3u4zw.

PUPDATE: Solana now called Soleil is living an amazing life in Campbell River on Vancouver Island. Her mum was kind enough to share an update and says that: she is really stepping into her own, and we’ve seen so much more of her personality shine through. She is a force that I couldn’t love more- spunky, adventurous, smart, cuddly, mischievous, and adorable 🦊

She could not have landed in a better more perfect place. She waited a long time for this! And shout out to her lovely mamma Keisha, who protected her babies despite being chained up, hungry and blind. Her pups inherited her amazing disposition and she too would love a home. For now, she helps support some of the newer dogs coming into the shelter as she was such a good mum.

Merry first Canadian Christmas to sweet Francesca and her new family Adam and Nicole. She loves her walks (despite the change to Alberta temps), her toys and mostly the snuggles. Her family tells us she’s very smart and shows off some new tricks.

Dumped once and now loved to the moon. Best Christmas miracle for Francesca and for all rescuers to see her happy second chance.

Registered Charity that stands by our dogs for life

Federally registered in Canada since 2012, PVCA Animal rescue finds loving homes in Canada for dogs looking for a second chance in life. A sister charity to the SPCA PV in Puerto Vallarta, we rely on our dedicated volunteers to support the transition of these dogs on their journey to happiness in Canada. These dogs were failed in the past - abused, neglected, abandoned, but with the kindness of strangers, they have this chance. We rely entirely on donations and the kindness and dedication of our volunteers and those committed to adopting.
