Leo has an amazing family in Kelowna and extended family in Port Moody. He bolted after a squirrel in Port Moody and went further than the area he knows well enough to find his way back. His family is searching and he’s been seen frantically running the area. If seen please contact the number below.

Thank you to Jenny of Victoria for flying to Mexico to get 3 dogs - Teddy, Bella and Flora to Canada and onward to Vancouver island for Flora and Bella before flight season ends until fall. Thank you Meghan for keeping dogs overnight in Vancouver (again) and kindly donating points to offset travel costs. And thank you to Cara, Stephen and their PVCA alumni pup Catalina for fostering Flora in honour of their recently passed PVCA alumni.

2 year old Cleo is looking for a home. Cleo is sweet and gentle with cats and dogs. She is sharing space with three young pups who she kindly mothers. She is curious, smart and walks well on leash. Cleo has a slight limp from what the vet assessed as a previous hip injury. Cleo has the last flight spot to Vancouver before flights cease for cargo transport until fall. She has a ride offer to Nelson or possibly Vancouver island. If you think you might make her a forever home or a foster angel in her journey we’d love to hear from you at [email protected]

Gratitude post!!
Not only do we need to thank Amanda and Jenny for fostering Fergie and helping find both he and Flora a home, but we want to share our gratitude for the response in getting Flora to Nelson from Vancouver. We shared a call for help with our community and our hearts are warmed by the response!

We got three amazing offers, including a ride in a private Cessna. In the end Flora will travel to Nelson with Jill who has watched both Flora and Fergie grow up at the shelter. Jill lives part time in Mexico and regularly volunteers at the SPCA PV and was keen to be part of this leg of her journey to a real home. A very special thanks to Jason for his amazing flight offer. These are dogs born with no home by a river where their mom was just trying to survive on scraps, to strangers putting up their hands to help. This means Flora doesn’t have to wait until fall when flights resume.

Thank you to our community!

Adopted!!!

Anyone headed from Vancouver to Nelson end of June (or start of July)? We have a dog who could use a lift. Reach out to [email protected] or spread the word.

Foster boy Fergie in Nelson, BC has had amazing love and support from his foster Jenny roaming acres of fields, walking with dog friends and lots of cuddles. He was out at a small hardware store on the weekend when he met Casey who works part time there. Casey was gentle and kind and took note of Fergies contact information. Casey and his wife Inge decided they could help 2 dogs in need. So, sweet beautiful Fergie not only found a home for himself, but also for Flora who was also looking for a quiet home. Flora will fly to Vancouver end of June and will reunite with him in their new Kootenay home.

Registered Charity that stands by our dogs for life

Federally registered in Canada since 2012, PVCA Animal rescue finds loving homes in Canada for dogs looking for a second chance in life. A sister charity to the SPCA PV in Puerto Vallarta, we rely on our dedicated volunteers to support the transition of these dogs on their journey to happiness in Canada. These dogs were failed in the past - abused, neglected, abandoned, but with the kindness of strangers, they have this chance. We rely entirely on donations and the kindness and dedication of our volunteers and those committed to adopting.
