Hello!
Baloo's Bow Ties has been an idea that needed to flourish for many years. I adopted Baloo when he was 4 years old from a shelter and have found nothing but companionship ever since. I knew I wanted a dog in my life again after I lost my black lab, but knew I had to adopt and not shop. When I went to the shelter to look at dogs, I wanted to take them all home. But none of them really stole my heart. Until I came around the corner and saw Hoss, the big chocolate lab. I immediately knew he was going to be my dog. However, he had a hold on him as another family was interested. I stayed nearly until the shelter closed to see if the family came to claim him. I told the front desk volunteer that I lived in the mountains, and if they could please call and leave a message if Hoss had been adopted. When I got home, I got a message that he had not been adopted yet and that there was a big dog sale the next day and to get there early around 10:30am as they opened at 11:00am. Like a girl on Christmas morning, I tossed and turned all night thinking I just had to get this dog. Bright and early at 7:00am, I parked my car at the shelter and went to the door with my coffee in hand. And sat. And waited. The first person to be there, because when you find a love in a pet, you'd do anything for them. Like getting there 3.5 hours early to adopt your best friend.
First thing was first. I had to change his name to match the theme of all of my pets growing up - Disney characters. While he played with his ball in the yard, he laid in the grass and you could just tell; he was a very happy-go-lucky, goofy, goobery, lackadaisical lab that looked like a bear. Baloo, I thought. Baloo the bear.
Ever since, Baloo has always worn a bow tie. I mean, how could he not? He is quite dapper. I wanted to share Baloo's love of bow ties with everyone who needed a little pick me up. I came up with Baloo's Bow Ties, so all furry friends can be dapper too and live like Baloo.
