So that’s mr dodger back in action! An hours hack just in walk to start building his fitness levels up !💪accompanied by my Maggie may who often enjoys a nice long walk to keep her joints lightly moving and her brain active 🧠

The importance of turn out !!
Horses are heard animals! it is so important that they can see/be with each-other , this keeps there mental health in good condition 🧠
Leg health ! If a horse stands in a stable for to long there legs can fill up with Edema, Edema is a buld up of lymphatic fluid under the skin , this can damage blood vessels meaning it can reduced circulation
Boredem! Often horses with little to no turn out present unwanted behaviours such as cribbing , weaving , kicking at the stable door , these can cause many issues in themselves !

I find brushing mud of my horse everyday is far better then having to call the vet up !

Phew😅, that’s six horses all fed, skiped out , rug changed , hydrated , hayed, groomed and feet picked and ready for bed !😴all in an hour ,now time to feed myself and pjs on ready for another busy day tommoro 🐴

😂😂 so tallulah was recently fitted with Mustad Hoofcare shoes , so far I am very impressed!! , they are durable ,have great nail hole positioning and are great in all weather conditions! ☀️ ❄️ 🌧 🏝
Hoof care is very important to me I pick hooves out at lease twice a day ! This prevents any stones or thorns from being embedded in the horses hoof/frog
It is also a great way to inspect you’re horses shoes incase of any lose nails or a sprung shoe , I believe it is always good practice to pick a horses feet out no matter how young or old they may be , this makes the farriers job a lot easier so it can be an all around good experience for you’re horse !

So what do we all feed our horses/pony’s??

My personal horses dinner include:


This feed contains pectins , when pectins are presented in acidic conditions like those in the horses stomach it forms into a gel like substance , this gel like substance can help protect the stomach lining from ulceration in particular the glandular region , this is the back of the stomach where acid is secreted !!


This feed is great for maintaining the natural balance of bacteria in the horses hindgut! It’s great for horses that have poor grazing/forage as it contains a good amount of fibre ,it is low in sugar and starch which means it’s ideal for pony’s that are prone to laminitis

I find These feeds combine create a good palatable feed for my horses ,not only does it support a healthy immune system it also keeps them looking great to !

If you’re finding yourself struggling to know what to feed , always speak to a nutritionist and do you’re own research !
