Looking for a tiny girl who wants to be everyone’s friend, who will sleep on top of you, or at your feet, who will be your lapdog while you watch television? CONSIDER SHELLEY. Shelley is a 2 1/2 y.o., 9 lb., spayed Miniature Poodle/Terrier mix who is available for adoption through Heather's Foster Dogs. The first thing you notice with Shelley is how people friendly she is. Shelley loves to play, but mostly wants to be someone's lapdog. She appears to be potty pad trained. Still very much a puppy, Shelley will nip on fingers from time to time so is not a great fit for a family with small children. Detached Single Family home with a secure fenced yard might be best as Shelley loves to run & is not used to eliminating while leashed. Shelley may be somewhat passive with another dog at first, but after becoming comfortable may become somewhat dominant. Shelley appears to be in excellent health now. While in foster care, however, Shelley has been treated for injuries suffered before being picked up as a stray. Because of resulting scar tissue, not all of the hair missing from her sides may grow back.

Scabs forming nicely. They itch some. Foster Grandpa applies an antibiotic/anti-itch spray twice/day.

Wounds likely caused by scalding. My sides had to be shaved in for an initial cleanup. They are cleaned twice/day & are being treated with antibiotics & pain medication.

Permanent & foster residents greet Shelley. HFD welcomes young lady Shelley from Joliet Township Animal Control. Vets have treated the fresh wounds to the both sides of her body & diagnosed an older break near her right knee which has almost healed.
