Another group graduation last night ❤️ Standards were high again and all dogs (and owners...) did brilliantly! Gutted for the few that couldn't attend the final session and your pic, certificate and rosette but know that you guys too did amazingly throughout the course. Go and put all you've learnt into real world practice now... Get at it!

Kane - 7 month old Cane Corso 😍 B E A utiful dog! He's a really lovely natured dog. Super affectionate and loving, bouncy and playful! He completed our fundamentals course a few weeks ago so his obediences are coming along nicely. So far he's struggled to understand how to walk nicely on a lead 😅 and with a dog that'll likely be 55kg + as an adult, its important he understands not to pull. He's also 'reactive' on his lead to dogs, but more because of wanting to play (as he's super friendly and social with others) and barrier frustration. He's not keen on traffic though, so once he's walking better on his lead and is more under control we'll start his exposure to see him really well rounded, and another fine example of the breed! 😁👌🏼

Carlos - 5 yr old Bulldog. He's a fantastic little dog and is mostly very sweet natured, but he's got a few challenging behaviours to work through... He was a really poorly puppy and almost didn't make it so had a seriously tough start to life, as a result he is permanently on medication. As with most Bulldogs, he's tenacious and strong-willed, some might say stubborn 😅 This is a big part of his biggest problem. He has few triggers that drive him mad, including the lights in the living room (and other things like balloons) and metal gates. When he is in the frame of mind to attack them, trying to stop him is difficult and results in him transferring/redirecting his energy and consequently biting his owners... He's been working through this though and has improved massively with certain things, although gates are still to be mastered! He was difficult on his lead and pulled and lunged towards lots of things. He likes to pick things up and eat them (nothing specific, almost anything thats on the ground) while on a walk so we addressed this a few weeks ago and again, huge improvement with this! He is also quite a domineering dog and likes to hump but is curbing this habit nicely too 👌🏼 He's certainly coming along and developing well and is a much calmer dog than the one I met a month or so ago so I'm confident he'll get there with everything 😁👍🏼

Ayla - 2½ yr old Husky mix ❤️ She's an absolute knock out! I get lost in her eyes 🥰 Not only is she beautiful, but she's a really good girl. She's only been in the UK since January (originally from Ukraine) and is absolutely smashing life! She's already attended our fundamentals course so her obediences are really good, and getting better all the time. She needed a little additional guidance while out and about though as she tended to pull on the lead and go where her nose told her too 😅 and has had 'patchy' recall. We've only had 3 sessions and we're done! She picked up loose lead walking really quickly and is doing great, and is developing well with recall. Now just a case of more practice and repetitions and she'll be spot on..! I'll check back in with her in a couple of months when she's ready to be fully off lead. Also did a little work around her threshold manners tobight too, of course she smashed it 👏🏼😁

Keke - 5 yr old GSD ❤️ She's a beautiful girl and is fantastic with her family and people/dogs she knows... Unfortunately, she is also quite anxious and doesn't always feel comfortable, which often manifests in 'reactivity'. She also tends to pace around while guests are in the house as she struggles to feel calm and relaxed. Her owners have been walking her on a prong collar (as it was advised, and gave them control) but I didn't feel it appropriate or necessary so we've removed that today and done a loose lead lesson which not only did she absolutely smash, but absolutely loved 🥰 Once she's had a little time to really embed her lead work we'll start targeting her reactivity around dogs which I don't think is going to be too tough as we saw a couple while training today and she did brilliantly. Can't wait to help her feel more settled in all environments and get the most out of life 🙌🏼😁

Koji - 18 month old Duck Toller ❤️ Absolutely cracking young dog! He's super affectionate and loving, smart, attentive and bidding. A pleasure to work with 😁 He's not got any 'bad' behaviours to speak of, just a couple of bits that need improving to be able to get the most for him... when we first met a couple of months he was petrified of traffic and pulled hard on his lead, in every and any direction. He'd refuse to walk by roads which made taking him for a 'normal' walk difficult. Now he barely even notices traffic and (mostly) walks beautifully on his lead! 😍🙌🏼 He hasn't had the most dependable recall so has been limited to a long lead or retractable but we've done a recall lesson today and he was amazing... We all absolutely loved it!! Shouldn't be too long before he can trusted off lead and able to fully enjoy every environment he's in. Absolute belter 🥰

Dusty - 9 month old Collie. She's a stunner 😍 On the whole she's developing well. She's super smart and affectionate ❤️ She's got a couple of areas she needs to improve on though... she's been displaying some resource guarding around food, although we addressed this 2 weeks ago and she's doing a lot better with this already! She loves being out on a walk and is fantastic off her lead, but, due to her exuberance she pulled hard on the lead to get to the fields. So, today we tackled her loose lead walking as she was incredible 😁 Didn't take her long to realise what we wanted from her and was happy to comply. If she carries on as she's done so far she'll be the perfect companion in no time 👍🏼
