Had lots of fun at Pathfinders of Muskegon’s summer kick off!! The fearlessness of the kids interacting with the animals, some for the first time ever, is always impressive! Love it! Proof that every animal from Australia doesnt want to OFF ur ON switch

This is Gumby my dumpy tree frog (Litoria caerulea). He can handle droughts better than most other species of tree frog because he can cover himself with a waxy substance, which helps him retain moisture when conditions become too dry. This excretion is called caerviein and has medicinal properties that fight staph infections, high blood pressure and cold sores caused by herpes.

Sounds like Jesus if u ask me 🤷🏾‍♂️🐸

But dont go licking dumpy tree frogs or rubbing them on ur abscess. Frogs p*e when startled. Just go see a doctor

MYTH: pit bulls DO NOT have jaws that “lock” when they bite. In the early 1800s pit bulls were bred to bait animals much larger than themselves like bears and bulls. With a thrashing 500lb animal in their grasp, pit bulls developed a tenacious bite. The longer they held on to the snout of the animal being baited the faster that animal would become fatigued. So there it is, pit bulls are just determined to not let go. They don’t have “lock jaws”.

Had a lot of fun hosting baby ’s 2nd Birthday party!!! The kids enjoyed themselves and showed the adults how fearless they are, and even inspired the adults to touch and hold reptiles despite their fears!

Fun Fact: Ball pythons have poor eyesight, so they rely on a few ”super senses” in order to locate prey. Their tongue flickers and sweeps the air for chemical cues left behind by prey items like a small rodent or bird. They then follow that scent until they find the location of their food. That’s when the heat sensing pits on a ball pythons upper lip kicks in and hones in and pinpoints the exact location of their food. Without these sensory organs a ball python would be virtually blind.

This little one truly lives up to it’s name, the Bold Jumping Spider (Phidippus audax).

This little gangsta literally jumped at me from one of my houseplants as I was walking outta my reptile room! So I made him a condo and gave him a place to hang out.

Caring for bold jumping spiders is both easy and fun. An adequate sized container is a good starting place. I used a snap lid container from Dollar (25) Tree, drilled 1/16 inch holes into the side and lid for ventilation. I furnished the inside with a piece of wood and some moss for humidity. I keep the condo in my reptile room which stays at around 80°F. And for food I’ll provide baby Madagascar hissers, which should be fun to watch the Bold Jumping spider hunt and pounce on. Thinking about naming him Phil lol

When male tarantulas reach maturity they’ll construct a hammock style web and lay under it upside down where they’ll deposit a drop of s***m. When they’re done they’ll climb on top of their s***m web and load their pedipalps and then go off in search of a mate.
