Brothers Spiderwed and Jumping Spider have such a sweet caretaker! Tiffany Calendar has been able to domesticate these sweet boys. They will be spending their nights safely indoors while they learn to use the litter box. In the last two weeks they have been treated for tapeworm, fleas, and received medical attention from Feline Friendz in Nebraska for a puncture wound.

Moomoo, our colony cat got fixed and is getting treated for URI for 10 days at my house. Good riddance, he has been a stinker attacking the other kitties outside 😂💕

He is a sweetie sometimes though! I’m hoping to get him recaught this fall for adoption when we have less kittens up and he’s less hormonal 😂

I got to spend time with my former foster Twyla yesterday 💕 Twyla was formerly completely paralyzed and after doing physical therapy and rehab with her for 4 months she was able to walk by herself again. She is now able to run and kind of jump(attempts) at her forever home 🤩 I attached the first photo I have of when she was first brought to me from a dumpster.

To our surprise:
Not only was Sunny eartipped but NOT fixed, the vet found that he had been shot in the back with a beebee gun. Pictured is the bullet they took out of him.

Sunny got his ear treated, was given antibiotics, rabies, the shot removed AND he was fixed today.

This is my luckiest catch to date. I am so thankful Feline Friendz in Nebraska was able to give Sunny the medical treatment he needs. And to the person that shot him, know that rescues will continue on to undo the hell you put into the world.

Sunny, today is your very lucky day. Sunny has been in our colony for over five years. Even though Sunny is already fixed, luckily he went into the trap today. Poor guy has a horrible infection and a chunk of his ear missing. It’s a deep wound. He will be seen Monday at the clinic and staying the week with me to ensure he is healing.
TNR is not just for fixing cats and giving rabies shots. It’s also for cats like Sunny, who are at constant risk of getting in fights, getting hit by cars, or illness. Part of being a colony caretaker means keeping tabs on the cats, their physical wellbeing, and getting them help. I am so happy Feline Friendz in Nebraska is able to help him get medical treatment he needs.

Bufford is a snuggler! Poor guy has matts and sticklers in his arm pits. He is only 8 pounds💕 I’m so excited for him to flourish into his gorgeous coat after he’s gained some weight and been adopted (hence the nakey belly).

Bufford is getting vetted today!! He was trapped and is the sweetest kitty ever!! Hopefully he’ll be in the Council Bluffs Petco habitat next week if there are no responses from the lost pets pages, NHS, or Petco lost pets. At the very least, this sweet one year old is neutered and got his vaccines and flea treatment 💕

I trapped this little 6 month old I named Tootsie a couple days ago. I was going to release her since so am no longer fostering but a fellow Feline Friendz mom messaged me asking if she could take her to help with another shy foster she just got, the same age.

It’s safe to say, I am so excited to see this little girl get adopted out, she’s adjusting nicely and getting sweeter by the day 🤩🐾

Keep your eye out for Tootsie and her friend Rocky in the next couple weeks for adoption! I’m sure they’ll settle into domestication quickly❣️

Update on Twila!! Twila was our 9 month old foster who was entirely paralyzed from the waist down and we never knew if she would regain mobility. Her toes, tail, legs, nothing moved or responded. Her adoptive moms sent me this video of her today. Twila has put in so much work, I am AMAZED at where she is today. Very proud and thankful for her moms working with her to regain her independence.

Odie’s 9-5

Julius Caesar is out of the building! He was adopted by the most amazing family today. Not even 2 months ago he was being bullied on the streets with scabs, open wounds and scarring all over his body. Today, he had 4 young children hold him like a baby(he loved it) and they told him they hope he lives till he’s 20. Fostering saves and changes lives entirely. I’m very thankful this cat ran in my house lol.

Odie loves to marvel at the bridge Ryan Vandergriend and I built. He’s like “This is AMAZINGGGG!”
