The loss of a dog or other beloved pet can be devastating, and often brings with it heartfelt questions and dilemmas.

Nothing can take away the ache and sadness we feel when someone we love dies... nothing. But the one thing we do have and that does bring us comfort, and is ours to visit any time we want to... are the memories of the times we spent with them. No one can ever take those away.

Imagine each person you love has a box... your job is to fill that box with moments and memories so that they can take it with them when they go ... you carry a box too... with those same memories. My hope is that whether we stay or we go, we always have a box filled with memories.

This reminds me (and hopefully you too) to go a little crazy making memories now with the ones who are still with us... lots and lots of memories...

Many don't know this information, and remember every second matters during a choking incident. ❤ 🐕🐩🐶🦮🐕‍🦺

1. Place the unconscious dog on their back. Brace the back against the floor. Straddle the dog, adjusting yourself based on the size of the dog. Position the head in “in-line position” with the airway parallel to the floor.

2. Make an open diamond shape with your hands. Place your thumbs on either side of the trachea below the ball or object. Grip the “V” of the jaw using lip/cheek to protect fingers.

3. Push with a J-stroke down and out against the ball until it ejects from the mouth.

Both this method and the Heimlich method has been proven to work so don't hesitate to save your dog.

WHAT I MISS MOST…….. My Raven passed 1/5/2022. She hated me dancing, singing, vacuuming, hugging the kids/husband. I catch myself in happy moments like dancing feeling so sad that she is not barking at me to stop, her eating my 5th vacuum. I don’t tear up every time, but it is always a thought that passes that my sweet baby is no longer with me. What do YOU miss most about your angel?
