A heartfelt plea:

Here in California, kitten season might slow down in winter, but it never really stops, and the last few years have been really rough. Please, please make sure that any cats you care for, whether they're indoor or outdoor, are fixed, the sooner the better.

It's time for Cat Throwback Thursday. Say hello again to Mr. Pickles!! He was adopted way back in 2003 when he was just 2 years old... Yes, that's right, he's still happy and healthy in his forever home and turning 24 this year!! 🤯 We were so happy to hear this update from his adopter. We love a good adoption success story. Thank you for sharing!! We wish you many more years, Mr. Pickles. 😻

We are excited to announce that this little Dumpling found his forever family. He is a chatty boy, who came to us as a surrender with a bit of a mysterious eye problem. However, our talented Med Team figured out how to manage it and help him be adoptable. He was the king of the kitten room for his short stay in there, before being snatched up by his people. Congratulations, Dumpling!!! We hope you're now the king of your forever home. 😻

Behold the beautiful orange tabby! Did you know that only 1 in 5 orange tabbies is female??? That's right, any orange cat is most likely going to be a male cat, well 80% of the time anyway. Not all tabby cats are orange, but all orange cats are tabbies! 😻 They fall into one of 4 color patterns; mackerel/striped, classic/swirled, ticked/stripeless, and spotted. They are also known for being very outgoing, playful, and very silly!! We all love that , don't you? 😹

Cat Throwback Thursday!!! Here's an update on two Happy Tails alums; Isadora Duncan (adopted in 2016) and Snowball (adopted in 2021). How cute to see them all snuggled up in a cushy cat bad together. Like we said, two cats are better than one. 😻😻

Happy "Twos-day"!!! Here at Happy Tails, we LOVE when two cats get adopted together. Sometimes they are bonded and MUST go together, and other times, the adopter can't decide. 😹😹 We totally get it!! And we think two cats are always better than one!!! Your cat gets a forever buddy as well as a forever home. How purrfect. 🐾🐾

Shout out to Happy Tails alum Cicily, who was adopted by a longtime volunteer. She sadly crossed the rainbow bridge early last year, but we still have cute pics of her. She was an excellent tortico (tortoiseshell + calico) girl. You are missed, Cicily.

Austin went home with his new person this weekend! Yay!!! He was on the shyer side at first and it took him a bit to adjust, but he's super sweet and floofy. It seems like just the right person found him for his forever. We will miss his purrs and his little white socks. Congratulations, little guy!! Happy adoption day!! 😻🐾

Cat Throwback Thursday! Who remembers Margery??? She was a grumpy old lady who lived in the hallway for a lot of her time with us. We loved her so much! She was adopted and returned a few times, but she finally found the perfect place to spend her final years. She crossed the rainbow bridge a while ago but we still think of her. 🌈
