From naughty to nice. This cutie is Baxter, he’s a 3 year old Shih-Tzu. When I first met Baxter I couldn’t even touch him. He’s cautious of new people and everything always had to be on his terms. He would even try and bite one of his owners. After a lot of hard work Baxter and I became besties and his owners now know what his triggers are. Baxter’s owners are now more equipped to know how to prevent his behaviors and can tell when he’s had enough and needs to go decompress. So proud of this lil man and his owners for putting in the time and work!
Top of the morning to y’all! Have a safe and Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀

Bates learned a new trick “Who’s your favorite” to go towards his AKC Advanced Trick Dog title.
So proud of this guy! ❤️
SOUND ON: 🔉 Doing some service dog task training with Bates. Bates already knows to immediately come to me, lick my face and stand over me whenever I cry. He knows to never leave my side until I tell him that I’m “okay”. This time I was teaching Bates that no matter what obstacles there may be, he has to get to me to help me. This is our first day training in the water with the paddle board. 💦
Sorry for the awful fake crying. 😂
Day 3 of training Deep Pressure Therapy with Bates. With service dogs, the goal is to have half of the dogs body weight or more onto the handler. But because I suffer from an autoimmune disease called Ankylosing Spondylitis (severe arthritis in my spine, hips, pelvis and many other areas of my body) if Bates puts that much weight on me it will hurt me. I’m training Bates to put his head/ upper body and front legs on my chest/neck area to help calm me down when I’m having psychiatric episodes. This is our first day doing it in public, what do y’all think?

Roman is coming in hot to say hello!
Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. 10 year old Dewey proves that wrong.
