🐾 Beginner Agility Lessons 🐾

Summer is coming, which means our beginner agility lessons can re-start again, starting next week!

📅Date: Tuesday 4th April
⏰Time: 5.30pm or 6.45pm.
📍 Location: Astley Abbotts, WV16 4SW.
💷Fee: £40 for 6 lessons.

Lessons will be held weekly, weather permitting and will be an hour long. There will be a maximum of 6 dogs per class, so spaces are limited.

The fee is £40 for a block of 6 lessons. Throughout the summer, lessons will be paid up in blocks of 6 lessons at a time.

Fee’s are non-refundable, by singing up you are committing to the 6 lessons. If you cannot attend a lesson, you will forfeit that lesson, it will not be carried over or owed.

Initially I am asking for a £10 deposit to secure a place, with the remainder to be paid at the first lesson.

The field is wet, so please wear suitable footwear.

Agility Taster Lesson!

I'm offering a taster lesson on Saturday 18th March at 10.30am for 2 hours.

This is good opportunity for those who don't know much about agility, but always wanted to give it a go, a brief introduction to what it's all about, the equipment and training techniques. There will also be the opportunity to then have a go with your dog.

It's a great way to find out if this something you and your dog will enjoy, before signing up to beginner classes!

All dog breeds welcome, must be 12 months plus and have some basic obedience training. This is also not just for adults, children are welcome too!

For those that were interested in the hands on Warm up Session, to secure a place it can now be booked via here.

The session will be 2 hours with vet physio Ryan from RawPhysio - Veterinary Physiotherapy . Ryan will explain the importance of warm before competing, what needs warming and how.

Then you'll have the opportunity to try this on your own dog with Ryan over seeing that you are doing this correctly.

For places to be secured, full payment is required at the time of booking, which is non-refundable. It is your responsibility to sell on your space if you can no longer make it.

Refreshments will be provided, but there are no toilet facilities.

** IMPORTANT INFORMATION **

I am disappointed to see that after last week's hire, upon inspection I found 3 piles of dog poo that hadn't been picked up.. one of which was right by the entrance to a tunnel.

There are no excuses for this, you must clean up after your dog and take it home.

Secondly, 2 of the numbers had been chewed and broken in half.

The field hire is solely for use for those who are experienced agility handlers, or have had some agility lessons via a club or trainer, or our own in-house lessons.

It is not a place to what to "have a go". Nor is it a place to exercise your dog, whether you are an individual or a dog walking business.

With this, I am implementing the following from immediate effect when the field re-opens for hire.

+ The hire fee will now be £15 per hour, with £5 refundable, once we've checked the cleanliness of the field.

+ Upon booking, you will now be asked who your agility club or trainer is. If this is left blank or I find the information to be incorrect or inadequate. Your booking will be cancelled and a refund will be issued.

** AGILITY FIELD HIRE **

Please note that due to the continued rainfall, the field is now exceptionally wet, making it unsafe to train your dogs.

With this, I am going to temporarily close for agility hire until further notice.

This is open to everyone, but particularly those who already compete with their dogs, would anyone be interested in a session with a dog sports vet physio on tips on warming up your dog correctly and safely to prevent injuries.

This will be a hands on session with you and your dog.

Initially looking at doing this on Sunday 26th March at £30 per dog for 2 hours.

Lesson Update... AM CANCELLED.

I am having to make the decision to cancel the AM session tomorrow due to the weather. When I checked the field at 10am this morning, the ground was still frozen solid and even more so in the places the sun had not reach.

Tomorrow, is set to be another cold day, with temperatures not rising much above 2 degrees, it is also set to be cloudy, not giving the field much chance to defrost.

For the safety of our dogs, I feel that running one session at 2.30pm, will allow the field some chance to defrost. Obviously please wrap up warm for yourselves and your dogs.

For those that I have booked I have also sent you an email. Please can you confirm if you will be attending by replying to this email.

If the PM session at 2.30pm is not suitable for you, or you feel that it will be just too cold for you, I totally understand that and I will refund you for your session.

I hope you can all understand this decision.

New course setup, it's a dodge the showers and thunderstorms kind of a week!

The first beginners agility class started yesterday evening too, which was great fun!
