I love all animals, the wild belongs in the wild respect them by keeping them there. We need our mothers as they do, they need to be loved to feel safe and secure.

Sadly, all primates in general make poor pets. They are wild animals, and very often at times the infants are torn away from their distraught mothers after birth, and given a surrogate. If you want to know more about “pet”monkeys, there is this Barcroft Documentary DOCS: My Child Is A Monkey. It shows the realities of pet primate ownership.

Many of these primates often end up getting psychological disorders, and are sometimes even drugged to keep them in place. Other primates like slow lorises don’t fare better either, as they too are captured (in some instances the mother is shot in the wild), and mutilated so they don’t bite.

Some spider monkeys are imported to and/or bred in the U.S. by medical research labs and zoos. Some individuals even keep spider monkeys as pets. However, in the U.S., laws exist that prohibit or regulate owning a spider monkey and many organizations work rigorously to discourage keeping such exotic pets.

Not only that, animals are killed for more reasons than just running out space. Hunting, animal testing, fur and skin industry, and abuse are the big culprits of killing off animals. Although, many groups have formed to protect these innocent animals, like Peta, The Humane Society of the United States has tried for years to try to protect the animals from being abused. It’s not only their job but it’s our job to protect them also when we see and animal being abused ..we should report it immediately if you see a dog in a car and it’s hot outside report it.. because animals do not have sweat glands like we do they overheat and most of them end up dying.. I have seen many times that I’ve seen this and I had to report it.. there were times the door be unlocked and I would let the animal out and another girl would give the dog water… some people don’t deserve animals if they treat animals in a cruel way can you imagine how they would treat people?
