How often do you play with your dog?
I would argue that playing with your dog is one of the most effective ways to train them! Even if your dog doesn’t have a high toy drive, you can still play.
Pixie has a super high toy drive, and loves all types of play. Pax doesn’t have a high toy drive but loves trick training, doggy parkour, and conditioning type exercises.
Not only is it important to find how your dog likes to play, but how you like to play with your dog. My husband loved playing fetch, frisbee, and tug, while I enjoy more mental play like hide-and-seek, trick training, and conditioning.
Playing with your dog not only builds your bond immensely, but it allows you to see what your dog likes/dislikes, what motivates them, and learn more about their body language.
This is your reminded to play with your dog!
