Archie the Cockapoo's favourite parks and cafes Parks and 'dog friendly' places to go with your dog

21/12/2021

21st Dec 2021.
Today Dad took me to Danson park (although it was Mum's idea).

He didn't know what he was letting himself in for! Not just the sticky mud that he got all over his shoes, but the games I like to play there.

It started off by being gentle with him along the woodland track. I pretended not to be too bothered with the Kong balls, he thought it was because they'd lost their squeakers).

Then he got the 'treasure' (a blue ball on a rope that we found in Dartford Park).
Off I ran into the trees to bury said toy. I dug a hole and started to bury the toy. Then ran off and started to dig again. Dad followed me to see what I was doing. So I kept digging until he settled down on a log to watch me. Dug a bit more, then barked at him to come over. Once I'd got him up and watching, I took the toy to another tree and started burying it again.

Now the best bit! He came over and I took the toy back to first hole and started all over again!!!

Watch his video to see the chaos I caused.

Then he gave me some treats, surprising after what I did to him!

He got his own back by taking me to the cafe and I had to sit down while he had his coffee.

Then we went home to tell Mum all about it. She just said 'yes he always does that with me'

Gotcha Dad.

Hello again.
Today (10th Dec 2021) Dad took me to Jeskyn's Community Woodland. It was lovely and sunny but a little bit on the chilly side.

I decided to run around and scrumble to keep warm. That was until Dad threw my tennis ball into the pond! If he thought I was going to dive in there and fetch it he was SO wrong. The water was very cold, but another dog came along and got it for us.

We then walked all around the area and I scrumbled in the orchard. Dad says he found some apples on a tree but I think he was pulling my paw. (see photos). Although the label on the tree looked correct to me. What do I know? I'm only a dog! After that we found a pretty Christmas tree that someone had decorated and headed of to the cafe. Dad thought he'd bought me a dog muffin (it turned out to be a Hooman one), so I had some other treats instead.

We then got on the nice, warm, car and went home to Mum.

Hello it's Archie again. We've been busy lately so this is the news from yesterday (9th Dec 2021).

Dad took me on a morning walk along the road near us. We went into Old Farm Park, however Dad put me back on my lead as we got near the muddy puddle. He's a meany, but he knows I would have jumped in it with my tennis ball, so I do understand.

We then walked down the road that takes us to the 'Halfway House Coffee Shop'. My friend Laura was there and gave us a big welcome. Dad and I sat out in the back room (where there's a wall heater). Dad had a gingerbread latte (whatever that is!) and I had a bowl of water and some treats. One of my treats fell through the gap in the floorboards, so I lost that one.

Anyway bye for now

Hello again, Archie here. Today my Hooman took me to Eltham Park (both North and South)

You can see me in my coat ready to go. The first thing we had to do was cross the big A2 to the North side of the park. This side is more wooded and we went to a part I've never been to before.

It was rather muddy in places. Usually my Hooman Dad moans at me for getting muddy paws, however, today you should have seen his paws! He had to clean them when he got home (I cleaned mine while he drove home).

He took me near Long Pond and you can see from the look on my face that I don't like quacky things, so I kept my distance! 🥺

We then went back to the South side of the park and I got to go to the bit that the Hoomans call the 'scumble tree'. I spent about 20 minutes there just digging around in the grass. Hoomans think I'm looking for something special (I'm not though, but don't tell them).

Dad then took me to the cafe for a 'dog muffin' (and his usual coffee). It was delicious. Although some yappy papillons tried to get my food. One even jumped on our table, so I told him off with one of my big barks!

I hope you enjoy my stories. See you soon.

P.S. look for the video of me at the 'Scrumble tree'

My Hooman Dad took me to Oxleas Wood today. It was very cold, but I had my coat on! We stumbled through lots of leaves, right round the Ice Age part of the woods.

Then all of a sudden we were in the big meadow and I ran all over the place. I even managed to roll on the floor, without being told off!

We climbed up the big hill to the Oxleas Wood cafe. Hooman Dad had a coffee and I got a (dog) sausage 🤩.

Hooman Dad likes the views from here, but it was a bit cloudy today.

Anyway, I had fun. See you again soon.
