Hello everyone, it's with heavy hearts we share the news of Robin's grandpug's passing 😔 She wanted to so kindly donate the 5mg and 10mg Vetoryl they still have to anyone who may be in need. Robin has offered to pay shipping within the U.S. in hopes of supporting someone who could use the extra help during a difficult time.

⁉DID YOU KNOW⁉ that much like humans being left-handed or right-handed, dogs can show a preference for their left or right paw? There's still a lot of on-going research on the topic, but observing your dog when they prepare to walk or when reaching for a toy can give you a better idea if they're a right-pawed or left-pawed, (or even ambidextrous!). Is your dog a lefty, righty, or both? 🐶🐾

Hi friends! For those of you who's dogs are taking Vetoryl, do you have any recommendations for getting it at a reasonable price? Mandi could use some suggestions 🐶

Hi friends! How long did it take for your dog to begin seeing improvements and what treatment path are they on? We'd love to hear your dogs' stories and get some advice for sweet Tula here 🐶

Hello. My 6 year old greyhound Tula has suspected cushings disease. She had the blood test yesterday and we are waiting on the results coming back. Symptoms are lethargy, increased thirst and urination, poor hair regrowth and a pot belly. A scan showed she has an inflamed liver and sludge in her bladder. How long after treatment starts does it take to get it under control?

Hi friends! Does anyone have some advice and experiences they'd like to share about their pups and Vetoryl?

My poor 14.5 old was just diagnosed with Cushing’s at end of last year after I insisted to get him tested with my vet. Extreme hunger, increased thirst, urination, loss of fur, weight gaining and pot belly are his symptoms. Then he had an acute pancreatitis right after Christmas. His pancreatitis is cleared up. But now he also has staged 1 Kidney disease that probably caused by Cushing’s. Anyway, we started him on 10 mg vetoryl. Just increased to 15mg this week because he is still hungry and drinking lots water and had p*e accidents inside which he normally does not. Do you really see an improvement in the hunger and thirst reduction once you figured out the right dose? Sorry for the long post. Other than his symptoms, he is still pretty alert and happy for his age.

Hi friends! We have someone new in the community looking for some guidance. Do you have any advice to share? 🐶

We just found out that our baby has Cushings, but he’s not eating well, so they are assuming that he has a very large tumor on the pituitary gland.
I’m curious if there’s anyone in this group that has dealt with this before, and what there course of action was.

Did you know that in dogs with chronic conditions, such as Cushing's, oxidative stress can occur? This is when there's more oxidants in the body than there are antioxidants. Take a look at our blog post to learn how antioxidants can help boost the immune system and do so much more! 🐶📖

What is an “antioxidant”? Oxidation is a normal chemical process by which an animal’s body gets energy from its diet. However, oxidation also produces byproducts in the form of highly reactive, unbound (free) chemicals called radicals or oxidants. These oxidants float throughout the body seeki...

Melatonin is one of the key supplements for dogs with Cushing's, but it also has an incredible range of other benefits and not just for dogs. Check out our blog post to learn more about what melatonin is, how it works, and it's multitude of other benefits!

http://cushingsindogs.com/2021/09/28/melatonin/

The one thing everyone knows about melatonin is that it is the “sleep hormone”. This is wrong. Rather, melatonin is a darkness hormone that tells the body time of day and season of year. It is released (primarily) from the pineal gland when sensors in the eye detect diminishing light or darkness...
