Feel free to share as I now feel it’s time to give the full truth about my time at this place!
Pilsdon Hill Farm (Also known as PS Sport Horses)
I don’t even know where to begin with this yard, I moved to Dorset for a job and my other half early December and moved in with the family, everything was fine until we broke up!
We went to collect my horse late February and this was when everything started happening and I saw the real truth! When my horse refused to load the owners husband tried to beat my horse up the ramp and became very racist to my sister when he was told to stop.
I transported my horse in their lorry with their other horses - my horse came off the lorry with a swollen eye, bloody nose and bite marks all over his face where the other horses had clearly bitten him while being transported!
They stabled my horse in a metal pen - I didn’t have a choice in this matter, I was sat with him one evening and he rolled and got his leg caught in the 5 bar gate I screamed for help and people just walked past without even helping.
I allowed their other groom to ride my horse and when I saw him next he had ulcers on the corners of his mouth that was fresh, and she had been seen sawing at his mouth rather forcefully - he’s a really easy horse and takes the contact quite easily, so there’s a need for light handed riders on him he doesn’t respond to harsh riders.
When I wasn’t working - my horse was to be cared for by the other groom I informed her my horse was on the walker and was to be taken off in exactly 20 minutes and no longer due to having done a really long hack (there was another livery horse on at the same time as mine) i came back 2 hours later to find my horse in the freezing wind and rain with no rug on the walker and the other horse had been taken off! When approached about this she replied that “he isn’t my problem” I paid good money to ensure he was well looked after on my days off.
Another incident I allowed their son (my ex partner) to use my horse for a clinic because his horse was lame. Following this I received multiple messages saying how forceful he was with my horse and I came back to find whip marks all over my boy. It wasn’t the first time he has done this to the animals as I’ve seen him repeatedly beat his horse on a few occasions that was unnecessary.
I paid for the saddler while I was away on holiday to then find out from the saddler she was never paid - even though I was told it was £100 and saddler told me it was actually £60
Over the Period of 5 months I had a lot of stuff stolen by the owners and other staff including:
Lemieux tendon billet boots (which have been returned!)
Flex on Navy Blue & Red adult stirrups (These are currently on one of their liveries saddles!)
2 Myler low port snaffles
1 universal Gag NS
And a set of spurs
A few weeks before I left I saw their other son punch my horse in the face with some force because he stuck his head over the door - this ended up with him having a FRACTURED FACE! I have circled in the first picture where you can see exactly where the fracture is! They then tried accusing me of beating my horse with a broom - anyone who knows me knows I’d never lay a finger on my boy because he is my world!
The day I left I was given a load of verbal abuse and I caught them all going through my stuff without my permission and was told they had every right to do it because it was their yard! They even went through all my stuff in my bedroom!
After I was made redundant due to “Lack of funds” they had in fact told the children I was apparently sacked for stealing and lying 😂 which is so far from the truth it’s unreal!
Another incident was with another livery who runs a “Business” 😂 if that’s what you call it. The horse accidentally stepped on her foot it was a complete accident 🙄 she belted it across the chest with a lead rope and left it standing in the middle of the yard on it’s own.
On entering the yard there was dead baby sheep everywhere and they were then chucked on the fire to burn leaving the carcasses on show in front of children.
Another game of theirs is if they can’t catch your horse they heard it in chasing it down the tracks to the stables which I had seen happen countless of times.
They were charging me for extras I didn’t even use.
I also had a problem with bullying and victimization at this yard and received a video of one of their staff telling me to do one and don’t come back. They lost a few liveries over this and again the blame was put on me.
One of their trucks aren’t even insured!
Just a few of the injuries their horses and mine received while at this yard!!
