It's already very hot out today, remember to set an easy pace when dog walking. Even if your dog loves a good run, they need some encouragement to take it slow on hot days. They can't plan ahead so they won't realise they might get too hot. Encourage them to slow down by setting a slower pace and giving them plenty of time to sniff and explore.

We have been on our morning walk already. I counted Izzy yawn at least 7 times at 6:30am on our way to Victory Woods (which I highly recommend for dog owners/walkers in the area) shes not used to the early wake up but she had a good run around before it gets too hot 🐶🌳☀️ - you will now find her on a sun lounger in the garden, shortly followed by the tiles on the kitchen floor no doubt!

Super hot day today and with another one incoming...try doing the 5 second test before walking your dog. If the pavement is too hot to hold your hand against for 5 seconds it's too hot for their paws 🐾

Ive got heat rash up my legs, bruised knee caps through pressure, tight shoulders from carrying a backpack for almost 7 hours and swollen blistered feet...but walked 21miles and have raised £195 (so far) for the South East Dog Rescue 🙌 thank you to everyone who donated. Feeling lucky to have been introduced to two very inspirational women who made every step that bit easier, and to of had some quality time with a good friend ❤ thank you for having me!

Talking with the Women at SEDR this morning and it saddens me to have come to the realisation that they alone are turning down 6 dogs PER DAY due to lack of kennels. I understand some situations but some are just VERY poor efforts from Humans ☹ Dogs are the most loving, affectionate, loyal things anyone could wish for...BUT they are also hard work, time consuming and some times an absolute pain in the bum (Izzy being at a 60% ratio 😂) if you are not willing to work with some of these traits, PLEASE reconsider buying a dog 🥺 Dogs aren't just for Christmas 🎄 they are fur life ❤

Another amazing day spent at SEDR ❤ starting the morning helping out cleaning all the kennells, then taking each dog for a roam around the garden 🐶 I WANT THEM ALL...Frankie is just the cutest and even managed a selfie today (kind of) 🥰 thank you to Sian and Sarah for coming along and helping out too, all the women at SEDR are truly AMAZING!!! Cant wait for my next visit already

Had a very exciting morning with South East Dog Rescue discussing a plan of action going forward, and can not wait to have my first full day there volunteering helping out with the Dogs. I was lucky enough to spend a little bit of time there today making a fuss of Frankie, who is a 7month old Staff cross Mastiff and is full of life...he is waiting for his forever home and will make someone very happy. My heart hurts ❤
