"So today.. we went to change my cats flea treatment as the one she was having didn’t seem to be working anymore…
When we went to the vets, they chip checked her… and there was no chip..🥲
This is the 3rd time she’s been chipped now… she’s 2!! 🤯
Has this happened to anyone else before?.."
This is not an uncommon problem and is something to be aware of now that it is illegal not to have your cat chipped. Chips can migrate around the body and be difficult to find, but the body can also reject them, after all, they are foreign bodies. Obviously this is frustrating for the person having to repeatedly pay for a chip.
Have your cat checked whenever you take them to the vet for peace of mind. If the chip has gone out can be replaced or the vet may find the elusive chip with a search. Don't wait until your cat goes missing and is whisked off to the shelter as a homeless cat.
Also, keep the paperwork from all attempts to microchip your cat just in case you are ever accused of not chipping your cat.
