My boys are both at school so I have more time🥳.

Now my youngest son has started school I have space to teach more clients! 🥳
I specialise in Classical dressage, classical in hand work and rider position using Franklin balls. I have a calm, gentle approach to training, where the focus is on building balance and harmony between horse and rider. We also have lots of fun! I’m happy to travel up to 15 miles of Tisbury, Wilts.

Lovely to be back out competing again at Half Moon stud after an unplanned break for 3 months! Trying to polish up my test riding for the Area Festival at Sparsholt College in a few weeks. Benny was such a good boy. He warmed up beautifully, then a bit of tension in the test meant he wasn’t quite as confident in his walk work. Lots to be pleased with and as always lots to learn from and improve. It was also lovely to have some friends coming to watch and support me. Thanks Jenny, Nova and Harriet 🙏🏼

I’ve done it! First affiliated competition post accident and our first Mediums.
I had such a fun afternoon! Benny was so up for it and felt great!
I had some huge mistakes in both tests due to being fairly competition rusty, but the good bits felt really nice. Most importantly I felt good in my body and mind, which is a massive step forward. I’ve been doing loads of work on my mindset as my confidence had taken a big hit from my accident. I’ve come to realise that mindset can take as much work, if not more than the physical side of riding. I’m really excited about building on all these things with the best dance partner a girl could have….my gorgeous boy Benny 🥰

I’m working on lateral flexion, rein back and a bit of Spanish Walk with Benny in this video. I warmed him up on the lunge over raised poles first. We did walk and trot small circles around me, making sure he was laterally stepping his inside legs over his outside ones on both reins. I then worked on shoulder in, in walk and trot on both reins. We then did some rein back to trot. Finishing with some Spanish walk. I find these sessions so valuable in my training and Benny loves it as he gets lots of treats 😋. The whole session lasted about 35 mins including half on the lunge.

Another lunge day today and this time over some walk and trot pole. I rarely use training aids to lunge now, but I do like to put the passoa on without attaching the front part. The bit that goes round the hind quarters just gentle encourages the hind legs to step under. As you can see you don’t need to force a horse into a low frame…Benny is finding that stretch himself 😊.

Our competition was cancelled today, so we decided to do a beach trip instead! Couldn’t have picked a better day! Benny was totally over excited by the whole thing! We did get some relaxed moments in the sea though and the scenery was spectacular!

Poppy’s second outing! We had an in hand and ridden lesson with Diane Thurman-Baker. She was foot perfect 🤩. Travelled perfectly. What a super mare she is 😇😍

Injury rehab is a like a rollercoaster ride….For me I’m finding I get massive highs and then smooth sailing for a bit, then you get the inevitable dip down. I had a bit of a dip a couple of weeks ago. I thought I was ok to hack out, and the unforeseen happened and I got badly jarred…luckily I didn’t fall off, but it hurt and made me realise I’m still early days in my recovery. I felt frustrated and a bit down…luckily I had a break booked so I used the time away to rest. I’m back now and back onboard (only in the school) and I’m feeling really good for the break. I had a fab session in the gym last night with Joe , and I was able to do everything I was doing before (less reps and weight)! So I feel I’m on the up again! 🙌💪🏻👍🏻

New 🏡 Reg PRE mare. Orchid Posephone was bred in the UK. She’s Smokey black, sir Mas Ural double cream, dam black. I brought her as a yearling and she’s now 5. I’ve done everything with her myself using classical dressage and natural horsemanship techniques. She has an amazing temperament, very cuddly and loves all attention. Not mareish at all. She hacks perfectly with company and is just starting to hack alone. She’s still very green on the flat as I don’t like doing too much in the school when they’re young. She has done loads of groundwork and in hand lateral work. She’ll need a competent, confident rider just because of her age and level of training. I’ve taken her to a working equitation clinic and she was fantastic travelling and behaviour. Her confirmation is really good and she has a lovely head. She’s 15.2hh but bum high again so should make 16hh. She’s very baroque…big neck and bottom. Very sad ⛵️ due to personal injury, so unable to give her the attention she deserves. Low 5 figs to a 5* home, tack and rugs available. Based in Wiltshire. Loads of pics and videos available. PM for more info.

I got up at 6am, got dressed to ride, got it the car and realised I’m bloody sore today…..cancel that! Yoga for me instead! So nice to have the time to get back on the mat…just what the doctor ordered! 🙌
