Throughout the semester, I have authored weekly Facebook posts on topics including less adoptable pets, health benefits of having dogs, benefits of exercise, animal welfare, vet techs, and pet wellness to name a few.

The purpose of using Facebook and the content I created was to help build brand awareness, educate and entertain our audience. Providing content that helped educate our audience about topics that included how to stay healthy with your pet, the pros of owning a dog, and the pros of adopting 'less adoptable' pets, we were able to gain our audience's trust and help build credibility. We were also able to help build brand awareness across our social media's by integrating links to other platforms within each blog. Our target audience is between the range of 30-60 years old with behavioristics of spending free time reading. It is beneficially to provide a platform that our target audience is able to read on their free time, and get quality information.

I learned that using Facebook as a platform to connect with our audience can be a beneficial and effective way to portray knowledge and quality information. By posting on Facebook regularly you are able to build credibility and relationships, promote, education, communicate, and encourage.

Overall, after looking at Open Paws' target audience, I believe that this platform is beneficial to our business and I would recommend using this platform. As stated above, our target audience is between the ranges of 30-60 years old and have behavioristics and psychographics of reading books and blogs, spending free time outdoors, and will research the best ways of taking care of their pets.

Thank you for reading and connecting throughout the semester.

Vet Techs Without Borders consists of volunteer veterinary technicians, and they form partnerships with animal welfare groups. Their mission is to improve welfare worldwide by connecting volunteer veterinary support staff to animal rescue organizations that need their help. Many of the organizations they serve do not have the resources to employ a full veterinary staff and must rely on volunteer support to continue their essential work. Their nurses provide help in animal sanctuaries, spay/neuter, wildlife rescue, disaster relief, and more!

If you would like to learn more, volunteer or donate you can visit their website at http://vettechswithoutborders.org

About Open Paws

Since the late 1800s there has been a big effort in order to prevent and save animals that are the victim to cruelty. The American Humane Association has a strong mission to leave no animal or child behind in the act of cruelty. As time goes on there has also been a strong pull to reduce the amount of animals, such as dogs in the humane association all across the country. According to the ASPCA, 6.5 million companion animals enter US animal shelters nationwide every year. Out of these 6.5 million animals, 3.3 million are dogs and 670,000 are euthanized each year. Each and every kennel that boards dogs is struggling with the overflow of abandoned and discarded pets.

The Open Paws is an open, free-range sanctuary that will alleviate the stress in hume associations and kennels across Midwest Wisconsin. Using social media in our marketing efforts will allow our company to ensure that we raise awareness of the overpopulation of these organizations. It will also be used to connect with individuals and organizations across Midwestern Wisconsin, and will show that this company is far more suitable to hold the overflow that we are experiencing. Open Paws is not only for abandoned and discarded dogs. This company also allows individuals and families to leave their pets for a short-stay vacation. Using social media will allow us to connect with these busy individuals, and make sure they know why we are unique compared to our competition. Different social media platforms will also allow us to express how happy, free, and well taken care of our doggy guests are while in our company.
