Our can be trusted off leash! We walked with them to the bus stop today, and had them plotz-ing just a few feet away from the bus 🚌 today. They didn’t move a muscle as their girl went off to 3rd grade. Such awesome guardians!!!

Their natural instinct is to watch and guard. Getting to an off leash point took work and training, which must be reinforced daily 😅 (and don’t let them off leash around wildlife or in busy neighborhoods!), but they can be trusted with a careful eye and praise to reinforce great behavior.

UPS man came to the door yesterday. I was outside on the deck and heard him say nervously… “good dogs, there, good dogs.” The gate was closed, and they were sitting like this. Neither dog moved a muscle… 🤣🤣

Did you know? Working line are very much toy 🎾 driven instead of treat 🦴 driven. In fact, they sometimes say no to treats, especially if a stranger offers it to them (which you want as part of a defense & guardian dog). We saw this firsthand when Lewie resisted a treat at the drive-thru window, stunning the service worker 🤣 who just wanted to bond with a beautiful animal!

Awaiting the ”break” command patiently to go get the ball. Desy is side-eyeing the camera and Lewie is staring into the grass imagining where it’ll land. 😆😆♥️

Desy and Lewie getting some bite arm work in with Josh today 🐺 💪🏻 Look at those teeth and focused expressions! These sweet dogs wouldn’t hurt a fly, but in training mode they are listening, fierce, and committed.

EXCITING update: Desy has been in heat the last couple of weeks! We are fairly confident (& vet checkups confirmed) a puppy pregnancy announcement is coming in the next few weeks! 😍

Desy and Lewie met their new baby brother this week! 💕 🐾 Judah McCoy was born at 1:48 am Wednesday 3/23, a natural labor and birth at home! Both dogs were present and in the room for the birth, and were so amazing with mom and baby 😍

Desy, our hung back and waited to be called near baby (she knows her nature is forceful - meaning she’ll knock you over with kisses if you let her - and she needs to be “easy” around littles), and she did it without us asking! So proud of her.

Lewie, our came right up and positioned himself next to baby’s bassinet and is the self-proclaimed guardian for this little one. He checks up on him all the time, sniffing baby’s nose and mouth with a lot of eagerness 👶♥️

Bad genetics and a bad environment can create an unsteady, difficult animal that causes a lot more harm than good.

In working line German Shepherds, specifically, you can breed OUT high-risk hip dysplasia, as well as breed IN temperaments and traits that make for a very steady, reliable dog that can readily do K9 and PPD work depending on the lineage of the dog and their inner charisma and courage. Who their father, grandfather, and great-grandfather was matters in looking for those traits.

American and show line German Shepherds are high-risk for hip dysplasia, can be temperamental and an unsteady family pet depending on their breeding, and grow to massive proportions that put weight on their hips and bones (120+ lbs). Working line Shepherds do not get more than 80 lbs, shed much less, rarely to never have hip dysplasia (if they are indeed full blood working line, bred correctly), and make excellent, dependable protectors and companions.

Hi there! 👋 We're a small family breeder of world-class, Germany-imported working line German shepherds here in Georgetown, Texas.

We also train big dogs (obedience and protection), including house/on-site calls, and boarding at our facility kennels.

We're owned and operated by Josh McCoy, who is currently earning his K9 certification and license (graduation May 2022).

Our sire and dam, Lewie and Desy, are trained and titled in Germany and were imported to the US in 2021. They're world-class and come from champion lineage.

Along with being titled and trained, they’re the best family dogs, and live on our 4-acre farm with us in Georgetown, Texas ♥️.
