A little about myself👱🏼♀️…
My dream ever since I was little was to work with dogs either in the kennels, for RSPCA, veterinary or dog walking/ sitting! I never thought about being a dog groomer until a couple years ago…
I am currently in my second year at college, my first year i studied Animal Care Level 2 and came out with a merit certificate🐹🐷.
I am now doing a course in Dog Grooming Level2 this course will hopefully give me the qualification in bathing, clipper and scissor work! I thought it was all cuddles and kisses and play time with the dogs that you work on but it’s the complete opposite. Along side doing Dog Grooming I am also doing Dog walking which is another certificate I will achieve this year hopefully🤞🏻
Dog grooming puts you through all the emotions, in the morning you could be the happiest and joyful person ever and then at the end of the day you would want to cry and scream because it has been a stressful day🥲. This journey since September has been one hell of a rollercoaster, I’ve been close to getting bitten, been wee’d on, been scratched numerous times, been growled at and even dogs that go to bite the equipment but completely miss and you’re millimetres away from being bitten!! My love for dogs grow more and more everyday and learning to become a dog groomer shows how much time and patience you need for the scared dogs that come in, even the big scary ones are sometimes the little whimps🐶.
I made this page to document my bathing at my work experience The Dog Shack they have helped me so much with my confidence in dogs it’s unbelievable! I enjoy every time I’m in the salon, it is a really good work environment and everyone was so welcoming and are very lovely women to be around😀
Sorry I have been a bit quiet in this page and that’s become exam season is here and to be honest I am worried and scared because I really hope I get the qualifications that I have worked hard for. 😅😬
