I got to flower my bestie’s wedding a few weeks ago and if I may say so, I think I crushed it!
I’m obsessed with how the ceremony flowers turned out, I wanted it to feel like we were surrounded by flowers without having to do any complicated installation work on the day of the ceremony (I was pulling double duty as a bridesmaid too!). The orangey/sage/white color scheme that we decided on fit in perfectly with late summer in Colorado, and 90% of the flowers used were local, sourced from two CO flower farms!
Other details I loved: Incorporating dried pocket boutonnières that I made in advance so that there was once less thing to stress about during wedding week, making bouquets for the bridesmen (because boys can hold flowers too!), and the eucalyptus and orange slice tablescapes.
Thanks to and for trusting me to flower their big day!

So Many Flowers in the wild! I love seeing my pieces at the homes of people I love, and seeing how they age. I tell people all the time that flowers will change as time goes on, and that’s part of the joy of them.

Here’s to a summer of fun classes! I taught 8 classes in June and July, everything from pressed flower coasters to flower arranging to flower pressing! I loved bringing my flowers out into the community and it was the perfect way to fill up my summer schedule.

Highlights include:
🌸3 days of pressed flower class with kids at farm camp. Working with kids was so much fun!
🌿Bringing my vision for a 2 part flower pressing class to life at . In the first session we pressed flowers and in the second we used the flowers in various art projects!

Come see me (and sweat with me!) this summer. I didn’t really intend to do a big summer market tour, but that’s just how things worked out, and I’m very excited to revisit a favorite market (Winterthur), a city I love (Durham), and go somewhere new (Haddonfield).
I’ll also be debuting a new DIY station or two, which I’ll tell you more about soon!!
Then I’ll be away from Virginia almost all of August for my annual trip back to Wisconsin and a wedding in Colorado.

Here are some of the pressed flowers I reach for first when putting together a design. Which also means I run out of them fastest!
Larkspur and nigella I grow myself, hydrangea I also grow myself but will also buy in different varieties, and astrantia is a perennial that I haven’t tried growing yet and pick up at the wholesaler when it’s available.
