Mila, our MegaEspophogus girl. Wow, Mila's fosters are doing an amazing job! Tweaks in her meds and food regime have curbed her regurgitation significantly. Mila had her 2 week follow up with Dr. Oppenheimer at VSH - Veterinary Specialty Hospital Palm Beach Gardens yesterday - he was quite pleased! Mila hasn't gained any weight - but she is more energetic and active - so we will take that trade! This week brings a few more nutritional tweaks, more calories for some weight gain.
Archie & Shadow
Archie and Shadow are about 5 months old and just adorable. They are very friendly and are house broken (bark to go outside). They play very nicely with toys, aren’t bothered by noises and no aggression at all. They have great temperaments.
The boys don’t need to be kept together – just would like another dog in the household
Mila update: Megaesophagus is such a cruel disease. Treatment of megaesophagus depends upon the underlying cause, all Mila's testing for underlying causes came back negative. So, today Mila is headed to Southeast Veterinary Neurology to meet with the specialists. Please send good vibes Mila's way!

Doggie Palooza 2024 Otis, Smokey & Duncan are ready to meet their forever families ♥️
Last week we were notified about these two sweet boys that were dumped in an industrial area of Miami. Fearing they would be hit by a car, we offered to bring them into the rescue and a Good Samaritan helped with transportation to our rescue partner , Redland Dog Sanctuary. The boys are so sweet, giving kisses and paws while they were at our vet. Both are great on the leash too! We now need TWO committed fosters - PBC, Broward or Miami Dade to foster each of the boys. A home with no small children (under 7) and another dog for them to play with would be ideal. Please apply at: https://lrrof.shelterboss.com/Public/Form/23414
Meet SMOKEY
Smokey is a great 6 year old silver (dark – more like pewter) boy. He’s about 90 lbs and could stand to lose a few pounds which he is working on since discovering chasing tennis balls in the pool is lots of fun!
Smokey is very social with other dogs – no history with cats. He walks well on a leash but does get excited and wants to greet people/dogs he meets. He has not come across a toy he did not like and getting them ALL out of the toy box is a passion of his!
Smokey knows basic commands and takes treats very gently. He still has a lot of energy and loves to play but also settles down for a nap on the couch.
Come and meet Smokey – he has a lot of heart and deserves a loving home.
Paws up !!!! Our bonded pair, Shadow & Bandit have gone to their forever home!!!
It’s always a special day when a bonded pair is adopted. Thank you yo Melanie and her famkly for opening her home and heart to these special boys!
Lucy, along with 15 other dogs, was confiscated from a horrid situation. After a few weeks, Lucy was the only dog from the group that remakned - and it just killed us. So, we went and busted Lucy out too!!! Lucy is a one-year-old small lab mix (45 lbs). She spent her first year of life neglected and living primarily outdoors. Therefore, she is learning all about her new environment in true puppy fashion. She loves squeaky toys, playing with her foster sister, and taking long naps on the couch. Lucy is high-energy and very affectionate. Lucy's intelligence shines through, but she will need an owner who has the time to provide proper training and guidance. Cat and small child history unknown. No stranger danger. We are so thankful that our partner Dogstown University was able to help is while Lucy’s foster went on vacation. Miss Lucy is loving all her playtime at DTU in Deerfield. Please help us find this little nugget her forever family! Apply at lrrof.org
Neiman & Marcus having a pool party!!
Neiman (chocolate, 7 yo) & Marcus (yellow, 10 yo) had a great time splashing around the the residient dogs at the fosters pool. Nieman, with the orange fish in his mouth LOVES the water, baby brother Marcus likes to splash about and cool down. Fun had by all! Neiman & Marcus are bonded and being adopted together, they are being fostered in Port St. Lucie - please apply at lrrof.org
❌ HELP ❌
Another ‘bonded pair’ needs rescue! Shadow & Bandit will be 4 at the end of the month. Dog friendly, well trained & behaved. Shadow will chase cats, so no kitties. We need a committed foster in order to help this family. Anyone able to foster these boys, together? Foster application on our website lrrof.org
