Feeding spinach and vegetables to a shrimp tank

Leafy greens are my go to for vegetables. Spinach is the easiest in my opinion.

Purchase organic when you can, wash really well and then blanch.

When working with shrimp you want to make sure to use bowls and untensils that have no soap or detergents on them. I have shrimp specific cookware I use only for shrimp and rinse with water only.

Add water to a bowl, throw it in the microwave for a few minutes until it starts to boil. Add the spinach, cook for a minute, stir gently, repeat two more times and let sit in the microwave for 3-5 minutes.

Remove spinach, add to ice water bath to cool and stop cooking, remove from ice bath and add to a paper towel to dry.

It is now ready to feed to the tanks and should remove after 24-36 hours. I try not to leave in the tank for more than a day. Your shrimp should finish it within a few hours.
