It’s been a minute since we have posted a graduation, but we just had to share Mipha. We introduced Mipha a couple weeks ago, and this girl really blossomed! Here she is at graduation showing her brother her new leash skills. Mipha and Colleen developed a strong bond and this allowed Colleen to bring out her confidence and personality. Way to go Mipha!

couple private sessions but needed more one on one. He is just starting his 3 week training program and already is making such amazing progress. Here he is paired with 2 confident dogs of similar size who understand boundaries with other dogs.Teddy is already learning that

Socialization for your dog doesn’t always mean physical interaction with people or other dogs. Exposing your dog to new places where they can experience their surroundings without the anxiety of having to be face to face with strangers or dogs is more valuable and healthy. Taking a dog to the dog park doesn’t mean they are fulfilled, socialized and happy. Dog parks can cause high anxiety and negative behaviors. They also have a high chance of dog fights. Find a trainer to help you and your dog enjoy going for walks. This handsome doodle is Brix. He is a little over a year old. He was lacking in social skills due to the Covid quarantine. Without proper socialization, dogs and puppies can show a lack of confidence. Brix needed to see that with good leadership the world isn’t such a scary place. Today Brix walked around town with many distractions which normally would have caused him high anxiety. He quickly realized that having someone take the lead meant he didn’t have to make the decisions and could relax. He was paired today with a confident dog to help him stay calm and focused. Who is ready for a Teddy update ? Or should we say, pupdate! We couldn’t be happier with this guys progress. He and mom have been doing their homework and it shows. Teddy is now looking at Mom for direction. Did someone say eye contact? Mom is showing more confidence as a leader, and this gives Teddy the confidence and guidance he needs.

Bane is training this week with Happy K-Nine. She is a happy girl from the city who loves people and other dogs. She needed some basic obedience, boundaries, leash manners and leadership. Bane is improving leaps and bounds every day. She has been participating in pack walks and agility training, as well as a walk about around downtown Petaluma. All of this will improve her confidence and will give her the skills she will need to be out in the big world with her family. As you can see by her smile, she loves it! We will keep you posted on Bane and her continued training, and of course, graduation day !

Larry is a 4 month old Great Dane puppy that was giving his owners grief on their walks. He would either drop anchor and not move, or pull and grab the leash. After 5 minutes of teaching Larry about leash pressure and what was expected on a walk, he was understanding heel and how to look to his owners for guidance . Larry also had the tendency to be nervous with loud sounds and new surroundings. His owners learned how to properly show him confidence by not letting him make the decisions on their walks. By the end of the lesson, you could see his confidence growing. #leashmannersmatter #greatdane
