Sprinkles ended our kidding season on Thursday with a beautiful buckling named Biscuit!

I was nervous about this kidding. It was an accidental breeding and I didn’t even realize Sprinkles was pregnant until she started developing an udder a few weeks ago. I would never have intentionally bred a doe this small.

Just 1 year and 2 months ago, Sprinkles was born on my friend Audrey’s farm weighing just 12 ounces. It was a miracle she was alive! She needed round the clock care those first few days because she couldn’t nurse or even maintain her body temperature. Audrey tube fed her milk and kept her in the house next to a space heater. Sprinkles was a gift to me and as soon as she was stable I took her home and she lived in my kitchen while she worked on growing and the early spring weather slowly warmed up.

Just a little over one year later, Sprinkles is healthy, only slightly small for her age, and the proud mama of a surprisingly large buckling that she delivered without complications. You’re a super star Sprinkles!

This is Ace. He tends to hang out by himself or with his mom. Hopefully, as he gains confidence moving around (he’s only 5 days old) he’ll start joining sibling snuggle piles. In the meantime I’ll give him plenty of attention and tell him how cute he is!

Adorable miniature Goats available for sale

Mulberry (smallest and darkest) is curious about me and stood still long enough for me to take a few photos. Noni (medium-sized, medium colored) is absolutely terrified of me. Hopefully she’ll come around when she gets used to my presence and sees the other kids climbing in my lap. Coral (largest, gold, and white) is a ball of energy, always up to mischief, and has no time to think about humans because she’s too busy playing.

The newest generation of the Nicky & Nitro family arrived this week and they are just too cute!

Nicky & Nitro’s mom, Adaline, was an older dairy doe when she suffered a fatal uterine tear giving birth to quadruplets 3 years ago. 2 of the babies didn’t survive but 2 little girls did. The dairy gifted me one the babies knowing how much Adaline & her kids meant to me, I named her Adaline in honor of her mom and her and her BFF Callum are permanent residents with us. Adaline’s twin sister stayed with the dairy herd when the herd was sold later that year. A dairy we have continued our relationship with which means we get to keep the family traditions going.

Thank you to volunteer Pam for making the long drive to pick up the boys the day after they were born. They are doing just perfectly and I love seeing how strong the family personality genetics are. The little lighter colored guy looks just like his big sister Tinker Belle did when she arrived last year.

These little loves bring us up to 16 bottle babies. I am beyond exhausted and feel like there are babies everywhere here but we always have room for family!

As our goats reach the required age, we begin to give them out to homes that will look after them . Unlike other pets, miniature goats don't bite, kick, or scratch.
