Well...rides include a Jeep Wrangler 2-door (yes, everybody fits!), a Honda Odyssey, plus the Harley for 2-leggeds, and Chewy.com is a favorite! We love summers and winters in western NY and lots of travel and visits to people and places.
DogsareFunx4: C E S & R and Sometimes O offers LOADS of positive moments about life with four dogs and sometimes a cat. They (almost) always are sharing joy, love, peace, and hope with everyone around. Come join us on their journeys.
Meet the Pack...
Ms. Callie is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, hailing from Maryland, who came to the pack as a pup. In 2020 she turns five years old and definitely runs the show! After years of training and obedience classes she thinks she finally has her humans in line along with most of the other family members - except Mr. O, of course. Callie is smart, fun-loving, loyal, and mostly cooperative when she isn’t questioning what you’re asking of her.
Edora, a most awesome chocolate Labrador, is the eldest of the 4-leggeds and is a Chilbrook Kennel girl from Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. She’s won awards in obedience and rally and easily passed the training for therapy dog work, first with Therapy Dog International and now with the SPCA’s Paws for Love Program. Incredibly loving and patient, favorite TD visits include schools, assisted care facilities, and disability programs.
Rescued! Well, little 7-pound JoJoRico made his own adoption decisions. He was staying with our family for a couple weeks as a foster guy from the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue (caninerescue.org) and an adoption was pending...Foster Failure! The adoption fell through and he decided to stay, choosing John as his very own favorite person. R can be a bit aloof and snarky at times, but he’s loved and gives love right back. With a couple medical challenges, Dr. Frost our exceptional vet, estimates Rico to be middle-aged.
Rescued Two/Too! ADOPTED Valentine’s Day! Five-pound Sassy Sadie won our hearts from day one and made her own special place in the pack after being fostered for a few weeks. An Indiana shelter wanted to find her forever home and she made her way in transports to New York and to the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue. Her motto is “be happy, snitch all toys (but give them back), and offer kisses daily”. Sadie enthusiastically participates in Everything and never likes to be left out. The youngest, she literally runs circles around all.
and Mr. Orange...a few years ago as we were moving back to New York state, Callie made a new friend, about her rusty color. She introduced us to a young stray orange kitty that followed us meowing in a wintry storm. Mr. Orange arrived! He’s still in and out and buddies up with Callie but is sure to have fun with the others.
the regular Supporting Cast...
