Martha had her lambs late on Thursday - a girl perfectly marked, called Margo
And a little boy who will be wethered as he is missing a back knee patch and still not decided on a name but toying with Morph, Marty. ?

Success from Impey this year with 200% lambing! - they all had twins (Mindy lost a tiny lamb) and each ewe had 1 of each!

So I now have 4 wethers to sell at weaning.

Here they are - they don’t lie together unlike some siblings who cuddle together 🙄

Update on Millie she is doing well hopping about but is confined to a pen, whereas bro, Monty is allowed out to play with his friends.

Now to see what the new young ram, Lloyd produces with the remaining 3.

Millie has broken her leg at the elbow 🥲. Not sure what happened whether mum stood on it? Because it is a difficult place to splint (and I said the other route was not an option!). I suggested we strap her leg up which the vet was prepared to do as she is so young and with regular pain relief, restricted pen area and we are hoping it will repair 🙏🙏🙏🤞🤞🤞🤞. The plan is to go back in 2 weeks to see the progress but it is likely to be 4-6 weeks. Here she is on 3 legs and it doesn’t stop her getting about.

Had she been a commercial lamb or older there maybe wouldn’t have been this option 🥲

So far I have 3 wethers available at weaning - Monty, Minty and Merlin
Merlin is a handsome chap (perfect marked but with 2 extra black markings 🙄) and is going to be chunky, minty is dainty, cute and affectionate (perfect marked) and Merlin is finding his feet but is a mummy’s boy (he is missing a back patch).

I have available the following looking for a new 🏡

SOLD. Louis, ram lamb, born January 24. Really affectionate. Perfectly marked. DNA tested and registered. Halter trained.

Lollipop, ewe lamb, born January 24. Really friendly but missing 1 front knee patch but a group 1. DNA tested and registered.

Lola, ewe lamb, born July 24. Different sire to Lollipop and will be available once weaned. Also missing 1 knee patch. Will be registered and DNA tested.

Whiterigg King Tut, shearling ram born Feb 23, perfectly marked, group 3. DNA tested and registered. Halter trained. Came 1st at Devon County.

These 3 have recently been sheared.

4 x valais cross ewe lambs born February 24. These have amazing fleeces.

All on Heptavac P system.

Yesterday I took a road trip to collect this rather beautiful ram lamb. Thank you to Sarah at Maybrook Valais for letting me have him he really is beautiful and Louis is a little in love with him. Unfortunately he won’t be white too long with our red soil! Welcome little Lloyd 🥰

He also got 4th place at the show yesterday in a strong class of 13

A bit slow with the results from Bath and West show as I got the lurgy immediately on return 🙄😷

The only lamb I took was Louis who got 4th in ram lamb - the judge did comment saying he will be a smashing ram.
Jubilee who got 5th In shearling ewe (there was a lot in this class and the judge said he couldn’t take his eyes off her 🥰) and jinx was the judge’s favourite apparently according to Susie 😂
We got 1st place with the group of 3
I decided not to enter the wool section this time.

It was all about learning as to what each judge likes as being new to this we are still learning as this was our second showing and first time in some classes 🤦‍♀️

So this happened yesterday I entered 3 classes and first time showing and got a 1st at Devon County for shearling ram with King Tut and 5th with Louis in the ram lamb class. One more class to enter tomorrow (wool)

Lofty 1 week old - getting heavy! With mum Mindy

Show prep today…..shearing for some

Mindy had her lamb early yesterday morning and boy was it cold 🥶 at that time - he was a big long lamb I did think he should be called Longfellow or Little John 😂. Anyway he will be a wether as he left his front knee patch in the womb 🙄. He needs a name and I still haven’t named the other boy yet. Here he is a couple of hours old

The girls - Jinx and Jubilee are so good at halter training now - here they are on a walk with the alpacas and no biscuits were involved 😂

Busy few weeks with family but first time taking Jinx and Jubilee out on harnesses - they were both really good but Jinx did have a little tantrum at the end…….maybe because we ran out of biscuits 😂 Emma Quick
