Dear clients, the vaccine against leptospirosis is included in the 5 in 1 vaccine which is given to your pups at 6,9 and 12 weeks and the annual vaccine.There is no vaccine against leptospirosis for cats.The best way to control leptospirosis is rodent control.Make sure you wear protective clothing(gum boots,gloves) when you are cleaning pet enclosures and kennels.Cover food and water sources to prevent contamination with rodent excreta(faeces and urine).Let's stay safe from this disease which can be transmitted from animals to humans!

It was a sad goodbye on Sunday 19th of November when the team at AfriCanis said goodbye to Corazon,as he was off to Germany. Corazon was a "stray"dog roaming the beaches of Mourouk,Tekoma and Pointe Cotton and escorting different tourists on these beaches.A couple from Germany on holiday in Rodrigues fell in love with him and wanted to adopt him.Since they were already in Germany they contacted our vet Dr Karen Onai Samoisy who ensured that Corazon was fully vaccinated and neutered before he was transported to the main island of Mauritius and later to Germany.Corazon stayed with us for a month .We had grown very fond of him and wish him all the best in his new life with Belinda and Martin 💗

Meet 10 year old Jake ,a Bichon Frise.Jake was on transit to South Africa with his parents and brother ,also a Bichon Frise.They were taking part in a transocean regatta.As per veterinary procedures, health checks were conducted on Jake and his brother. There was also verification of travel documents including vaccination schedules .
