Finn, you are a special boy!

I’ve walked/ watched Finn ever since he was a 10 week old pup. It’s been a pleasure spending sometimes up to 5 days a week with him.

I’ll miss you mate!

I never know what I’m going to find when I visit Finn, the Aussie Shepherd Puppy 😅

I visit Finn twice a day between 2 and 4 days every week and I’ve certainly found some destruction, to say the least!

Today he pulled off yet another section of skirting board and chewed the crap out of it. I think he’s feeling a bit guilty about it.

Still, it’s hard to be cross with this cutie!

What destruction have you come home to, thanks to your dog?!

These super hot days call for a lot of time in the shade!

My walks are all done in the mornings at this time of year, but I see Finn in the morning and the afternoons. He is more keen on a lie on the grass in the shade in the arvos!!

It’s very true… dogs have a way of turning a bad mood into a good mood!
In their minds they exist mainly to love YOU!

I do not understand people who are not “dog people”!?!? 🤯

I miss my little dog Coco every day 😣

But I feel so happy to be able to enjoy the company of other dogs every day. I seriously love my job!! 🤗

This little dog “Ted” is the exact same breed as Coco (Toy Poodle x Bichon) and looks just like her.
I get to walk Ted and his brother (from another mother) “Bear” 3 days per week. Teddy is super cuddly and loves to stop for a quick cuddle mid walk (which I love too)!

These two really do make me smile ❤️

I always wonder how I’ll be greeted when I arrive at a house to walk a dog I’ve never walked before when the owner is not there, and have only had a meet & greet or 2 with the owner and dog.

I’ve been very lucky so far and they all seem to remember me and greet me in a very welcoming way 😊
Dogs are very smart, they can definitely sense if you mean well, or whether you have bad intentions.

They realise pretty quickly that I am their friend and I am there to take them for a walkies!

This is Dougal, a 3 year old Labradoodle that I took walking this morning for the very first time, having only met him once in the weekend. He was stoked to see me and all too happy to go walking with me! 🤗❤️

🐾 FUN FACT 🐾

Shepherds (think Border Collies & Australian Shepherds etc) automatically see children as something that needs to be herded (like sheep!) unless you train them not to, they will do it!

This has happened on a couple of occasions in the most recent school holidays when my 2 boys joined me on my walks 😆

The great thing is, these breeds are highly trainable 👌

With each dog comes a different experience 🐾

Today began with play time / home visit with Finn, the 9 week old Aussie Shepherd.
He’s doing so well and already doing his business outside… with a few accidents inside.
I can tell that he is very trainable 🙌

Followed by a walk with Bess & Jim, the 2 kelpies. They need an hour long run round at the reserve, chasing their ball and seeing their mates.

Then a wee half hour walk with Bear & Ted, 3 year old “brothers from another mother”. These 2 just need a snuffly walk around their suburb.

Oh my gosh, how cute are puppies!? 🤗

“Finn” the 9 week old Aussie Shepherd is my new Monday and Tuesday mate.
I get to spend an hour each morning and afternoon with him - This is part of my home visit/ drop in service.

Being just 9 weeks old he is not fully vaccinated and can’t go on walkies just yet.

I just love him!! ❤️🐶🐾

R.I.P to this lovely boy “Hugo” who is now in dog heaven 😔
Yesterday I received the news from his owner that he ran out on the road and was hit by a car. Sadly, he didn’t make it.

It is such a tragic thing to lose a pet, and my deepest condolences go out to his owner 😞
