UPDATE: Had to pick up a spare kennel from my place so that we could go ahead and pick this little guy up who was jumping on kids “playfully” at the elementary. He’ll have to make due in there for the weekend but on the up side if he isn’t claimed within 72 hours we have an officer who is willing to take him in 🏡🦮 in the state of Texas after a 72 hour wait period animals are considered “abandoned” and become property of said shelter. With that in mind please share our post so that if he does have an owner then have a chance to reclaim him 🦮🤠🐕‍🦺

We received a call on Friday around the 900 block of Johnson about a dog bite case where a little girl got in the way of this big guy and their little female dog. Traps were set up over the weekend but we were about to get him rounded up yesterday morning. Again, if your fur-iend is able to leave your property you can be charged with “Animal At Large” which is $250 per dog* plus an additional $50 if a trap is used and multiplies every time we are forced to repeat ourselves. Since we are currently unable to house anymore fur-iends it is the owner’s responsibility to take the necessary steps to insure their fur-baby doesn’t run off to become someone else’s problem 🙃🤡 let’s try to practice a little accountability, we are all grown ups here

Was driving down Laredo to pick up a dead cat on the road and came across this guy having a really bad day on the corner of Green/Laredo😡 Thought it was a shirt or a bag on the road as it didn’t move when i drove closer but it’s a fairly large cat with what appears to be a p**s poor gunshot wound to his head. Not sure how long he’s been here but because he is clearly suffering he will be humanly euthanized. Like to take the opportunity to state again that we do provide cat traps for rehoming unwanted strays 🐈‍⬛🪤👀

Me trying to sympathize with an upset contact about receiving a citation for something they were warned would happen MONTHS AGO. It’s difficult to do given the fact we provide said person with copies of “what not to do” so they can avoid this outcome 🐕‍🦺🤷🏽🦮

And just like that we are full again, we will not be taking in anymore dogs until we are able to open up more room. We apologize for the wait but shelters nationwide are having “overcrowding” problems and it is becoming more and more difficult for the fosters we work with find places for our fur-iends to go.

Owner surrender- female: Buffy was born November 23,2020, she is 2 years 11 months and 1 day old. She is a bit of an escape artist so she was turned over to us.

Owner surrender- male: Rex, 5 years old. We were told that he’s recently gotten into the habit of “snapping” so he was turned over to us. He did have an attitude while he was being brought in but has since calmed down a little.

Owner surrender- female: forgot to get her name after chasing her around her back yard for almost half an hour 🙃 “today was hectic”. She was surrendered because she started biting family members so they figured it was best to give someone else a chance with her.

Owner surrender- 3 boys and 2 girls, about 3 months old.

NOTE: if anyone is interested in adopting just know that you will be expected to get them up to date with their shots/spay/neutering within 10 business days of their adoption. Failure to do so will result in them being picked back up 🦮🤷🏽🐕‍🦺

TRANSPORT DAY!!! Big thanks to miss Donna for making a trip to help clear out quite a few kennels for us. We have several “at large” calls pending in the Carle/Humble area and around Burch/Longview/Tipton. We will be setting up traps next week to deal with those calls first. If you are having issues with strays in your area please feel free to send pictures of them to us here so we know what to look for and to call it in so that we can put it on the list 🦮🤷🏽🐕‍🦺

Vaccination/bath day!!! Big thanks to miss Claire for coming to the shelter today to get all of our fur-iends updated with their deworming meds/vaccines. Came to the realization that these little stinkers had not had a bath for a while so we took the time to get them freshened up and they seemed to enjoy it. We were called out to the Lowes a little while ago to pick up this little guy who kept running into the store to avoid getting wet 🦮no collar or tags so please share our post so that we can get him home as we don’t have much room available. Good thing he’s so small🐕‍🦺
