If you answered D earlier you were correct!!
One of the main things to remember about stress is that stress can be good or bad, so many things we think are "normal" dog behavior can be a sign of stress even if our dogs don't seem to be stressed.
Using the dog park example to explain the three signs of stress we mentioned:
Panting - If you see your dog hasn't been running around too much, but is panting a lot (especially if other dogs are coming around to play) that could be a sign of stress and a need for help to get out of the situation.
Body Shakes - Just like when they're wet, dogs may shake to help release stress. When first going into a dog park and being overly stimulated by the smells and dogs running around they may shake when they get in.. Almost like when you shake out jitters before a performance.
Alert Ears - This is probably the main signal to humans that our dog is not necessarily in their calmest state/stress-free. If we're in the dog park and our dog's ears are alert it could be for a number of reasons BUT this is a good time to keep an eye on your pup until they get into a calm state so you can jump in if necessary to avoid any issues.
There are soo many different ways to see that your dog's are stressed and if that's something that concerns you please feel free to contact me and we can try to work through it!
