A beautiful sunset photo session for Caitlin & her, sweet boy, Bear. 💕

Bear will be celebrating his birthday soon and Caitlin and I planned a session to celebrate their bond of almost 16 years!

This is just one of so many special photos where they snuggled, relaxed and had some quiet time together while I captured their story at one of their favorite locations.

“The girls could not stop talking about how much they enjoyed the session!”

Wow, what an awesome compliment from a 5 & 8 year old after hanging out with me for 2 hours!!

That is what Ella & Quinn’s mom told me the day after their family photo session to celebrate their senior pup, Murphy!

Even though this family has a crazy busy schedule, Murphy’s mom knew it was important to take the time to document the abundance of love they have for the furry kid in their family.

And I know that in 10 years when the girls look back at the beautiful, custom album I am designing for the family…it will bring back all the warm, happy vibes of that day! 💕

This photo means so much to me & my family. It was taken when we thought we only had 3 more hours left with our sweet rescue pup, Daisy. 🌼

We had been at the ER the day prior (due to an aggressive cancer she had been dealing with) and they said she only had a day or two left so start saying your goodbyes. 🥲

The next day we had a vet scheduled to come to our home to help her leave this earth peacefully.

While we were all giving her all the love we could, I suggested we get her outside and go for a walk. So we got the wagon out and enjoyed a nice walk in the fresh air…and then Daisy really perked up and we really felt it wasn’t time yet.

That walk gave us 3 more amazing weeks to say goodbye. And she left us when she was ready with all of us
by her side.

This photo truly represents my family being there for Daisy when she needed us to love her and care for her until she was ready to leave us physically.

My husband thanks me daily for our walk with Daisy that gave us a little more time for snuggles, smiles and love!❤️

I love capturing those unexpected moments during a custom pet photo session.

During the session when we are moving from one spot to another at the location, I am always paying attention what is going on.

A lot of the time, I will capture a really adorable moment when no one thinks I am photographing.

Just like I did here with Elisabeth and her, puppy, Willow, as we were heading over to the benches to take some photos.

My custom pet photo sessions are always a reflection of you and your pet’s personalities. It makes each session experience truly special.

I was so honored to be with Danika and Elizabeth to celebrate their beautiful bond. It was a mix of emotions as Danika’s journey on earth was coming to an end.

I truly hope having photos of this time together will help Elizabeth ease the loss and feel the love of Danika always. ❤️

One of my favorite photos from my 2023 at-home custom sessions.

📸: Maria and her beloved 18-year-old rescued Chihuahua mix, Oscar, in their backyard in San Francisco.

Oscar was a rockstar that day. I always believe senior pups sense that these photos with their family are important and they do their best to shine.

Maria’s daughter set up the session for her mom at their home. Which was perfect so everyone felt comfortable and relaxed.

I captured photos of Maria and Oscar doing what they normally do around the house and backyard. Which I am sure the family truly cherishes.

Oscar gained his angel wings about two months after the session. I am so happy they have amazing photos to remember that special day. 💕

Every year I go through my previous year’s sessions to pick some of my favorite photos!!

It helps me look how the year went with regard to my creativity, what went well and what I can improve on moving forward.

For my custom sessions, I am prepared for what my pet parents love about their pets and family and what they want me to focus on. And I am always ready for all those in-between moments, too.

📸: Alexandra, 2 years old, is getting ready to walk her pup, Nessie, down the path.

I love Alexandra’s smile and how her mom’s arms frame her sweet face. The leash connects them all literally and figuratively!! And Nessie with that happy smile and flowing fur!!! Love it!😍

I am so thrilled Alexandra will have this photo and many more from the session to look back on as she grows up!

Our pets can really tell how we are feeling by our facial expressions!

When a dog raises their eyebrow area & sticks out their tongue, they are relaxed and happy and they expect a happy gesture back from us!

The No. 1 pet resolution - I promise to bring endless joy and laughter to my family’s lives because that’s what I do best!!

📸: this photo is such a happy photo…Ed, Jack & George are so loved by their family! Villa Montalvo in Saratoga, California was the location for this session. It was special because it is where Ed, Jack & George’s mom & dad were married!

Countdown to the Top 10 Pet New Year Resolutions!

No. 2 - I will try not to dramatically over sleep and miss out on any meal or playtime opportunities!

📸: this photo was an at home “Day in the Life” session. Frankie, a sweet yellow Labrador Retriever, loved to cuddle with her mama in bed. So, of course, I wanted to capture this moment. And I captured so many other moments of Frankie with her family.

This session was extra special because Frankie was battling an aggressive cancer. Her mama wanted to document their time together while Frankie was doing good.

I designed a stunning Custom Luxe Album for Frankie’s family of that wonderful day.

Countdown to the Top 10 Pet New Year Resolutions!

No. 3 - I resolve to be the best furry friend to my human sibling and protect at all costs!

I love photographing families and their pets especially when there are little humans involved. Kids and their pups are the most innocent creatures on earth.

📸: this photo is of Alexandra and one of her pups, Nessie, on the Stanford University campus. I photographed her mom and dad with their 3 pups before she was born. It was so special to see her so happy and interacting with her pups!💕

I am so happy she will have these photos as she grows up! And it is such a confidence boost for kids to see their family photos really big on the wall every day to be reminded how special they are!

Countdown of the top 10 Pet New Year Resolutions!

No. 4 - I’ll share my toys and not hoard them all under the couch…most of the time!

Pet photography sessions at home are perfect for senior pets, puppies and cats. It keeps your pet safe and relaxed since they are in a familiar place. And it gives the photos a very “lifestyle” vibe.

📸: this photo is of one of the most loved pups I have ever met. Squeakee, an (almost)16 year old Shih Tzu, had his session at his home and on location in the nearby neighborhood.

He knew this was his day to shine! 🌟We got so many adorable photos of Squeakee and the family together.

No. 5 - I aim to master a new trick this year and impress everyone with my talent!

Photographing from behind a pet parent and over their shoulder is a fun angle to capture a moment!

📸: Marshmallow, an (almost) 12 year old Mini American Eskimo dog was showing off her talents at her custom session.

This moment and many more adorable candid shots with her pet parents are in a beautiful custom designed album that will last for many years to come.

Countdown of the Top 10 poet New Year Resolutions!

No. 6 - I solemnly swear to guard the house against pesky rodents with more determination!

When I photograph cats it is usually inside their home or backyard. And knowing that cats are a bit more stubborn, independent & mischievous than dogs helps with my approach to capture their attention and personality.

📸: Frank, a 6 month old Ragdoll cat, was in his backyard in San Francisco and I caught him giving me a “look” with those eyes! The foliage in the foreground makes it look as if he is out in the wild!!

Countdown of the Top 10 Pet New Year Resolutions!

No. 7 - I will endeavor to sit still for longer than 10 seconds during a photo session, but only if treats are involved.

Truth is I only need about 1/500 of a second to capture your pup! And if your pup is treat motivated, having their favorite treats does help.

📸: Raia, a 5 month old Goldendoodle puppy was on the steps in front of one of the libraries at the UC Berkeley campus. This is the “hero pose” where I am at an angle below her and a treat is put right on my lens to get her to look towards me. Also, she is framed perfectly against the building!

No. 8- I promise to be the BEST cuddle buddy and provide unlimited warmth during those chilly nights!

Capturing the magical bond of humans and their beloved pets is what I love to do. Amazing things happen you are relaxed, at a favorite location enjoying a moment with your BFF (best furry friend).

No. 9 - I vow to perfect my “puppy dog eyes” look to get more treats and belly rubs from my humans!

FYI ➡️The “Puppy Dog Eyes” shot is something I capture at every session. It’s an angle that pet parents seem to love because it’s how they see their pups every day!
