We have some bittersweet news! This will be our last Facebook post.

Vet’s Best Friend was recently acquired by Rarebreed Veterinary Partners and we will continue to operate under Rarebreed (please give them a follow!). While we are sad to retire the VBF brand, we take comfort in knowing that our guiding mission, “to take care of the people who take care of our pets” will live on with Rarebreed’s dedicated and passionate team.

It’s been an incredibly fun and rewarding three years and we want to send a special thank you to our home office team, our practices, ambassadors, clients, and partners. You have all helped us more than you know in improving the lives of those who take care of our pets and we are forever grateful to you.

Please continue to take care of yourselves and each other. 💙

We're so proud to announce that we will be teaming up and sponsoring the 7th annual MetroWest K95K hosted by MVMA Charities!🏆 The MVMA Charities is the charitable arm of the Massachusetts Veterinary Medical Association (MVMA), the professional association for all veterinarians in Massachusetts.🏥 They work closely with Animal Control Officers across the state providing funds for the emergency care of abandoned and stray dogs and cats.🐶🐱 The MVMAC also supports emergency and disaster preparedness programs by providing funding for education and materials for first responders. Walk or run alone or bring along your furry friend, and help raise money for the MVMA Charities!🎽 This event will take place on September 18th, 2022 at the MetroWest YMCA’s outdoor facility in Ashland/Hopkinton, MA.

Go check out our latest blog post for more information and the link to register/donate!😀--> https://vetsbestfriend.com/how-were-supporting-mvma/

We invest in vet practices, boarding, and daycare facilities in New England with a focus on caring for the people who care for our pets.

We're back to feature another Veterinary Student Ambassador! Let's give a warm welcome to, Virginia Rodda, from the University of Florida.🌴 Growing up her mother was nomadic and adventurous, living in 8 different states and provinces across Canada and the United States. Much like her travels, her path to veterinary school was not a direct one. She studied biology for her undergrad and spent many years working in animal husbandry for zoos and aquariums around the country.🦈🐠 While Virginia was working at a shark research laboratory in the Bahamas, she got the opportunity to volunteer with a small animal vet visiting the island. It was her first time she even considered a career in veterinary medicine, then 2 years later she was enrolled at UF!🎉

She currently lives with her husband and 3 cats while attending school.🐱 She says she can definitely prefer the winters in Florida compared to Canada! She's so excited to see what the next 3 years of school has to offer and we are so grateful for her to be a part of Vet's Best Friend!🤩

If you or someone you know is interested in becoming a Veterinary Student Ambassador or extern click the link in our bio for more info!

We're back with another 👋 Allow us to introduce Myrna Robinson-Weiner, a Business Development Liaison here at Vet's Best Friend.✨ She’s been married to Dr. Bruce Weiner for 44 years. He founded Cambridge Veterinary Care which started on Newbury St in Boston and ten years later were offered a large space in Harvard Square. They have seen thousands of pets from all over the greater Boston area.🐶 Three years ago, they decided to investigate selling their practice as Vet’s Best Friend was beginning their own new journey. They were the first hospital acquired by VBF and she notes “we were very happy with the process and continued support from the home office. Anyone should feel free to contact me and ask how their practice can become part of Vet’s Best Friend.” Myrna now travels with VBF to tell her story and answer questions from other practice owners and doctors. 🏥
---
Myrna and Bruce raised two sons in Belmont, MA and still live very close by. Over their lifetime, they’ve had an amazing number of pets, mostly brought by chance and people who knew they could provide a loving home and great medical care. Today they live with two elderly black cats (18 years old), Midnight and Bentley.🐱 🐱

This week we’re doing a on Dr. Kasia Szymanska, our clinical director and veterinarian from Winter Hill Veterinary Clinic.👏 A few weeks ago she visited the second grade class at East Somerville Community School to discuss what she does everyday as a veterinarian.🚸

Says Dr. Kasia, "I loved animals from as early as I can remember, so it was a joy to bring in 'props' from the clinic and answer some great questions these youngsters had. If it wasn’t for the teachers, family and community that nurtured my passions as a child, I wouldn’t be where I am today." Thank you Dr. Kasia!💓

CUTENESS ALERT!💞 One of our Veterinary Student Ambassadors, Sara Schectman, recently volunteered as a foster parent while balancing vet school! She opened her home to 5 puppies in which she raised from 3 days old to 9 weeks old.🐶 They have all been adopted out to great homes and her roommate even ended up adopting one... it's great to hear she'll be able to watch one of them grow! Take a look at just how adorable they are.😍

Happy 👋 Today we're introducing you to Cortny Guttadauro, our new Marketing Specialist.

Cortny was raised in Tewksbury, Massachusetts where she still resides with her two pups, Bella and Beowulf. Bella is an 11-year-old yorki-pom mix, and Beowulf is a 5-year-old border collie mix. Cortny has spent the past seven years dedicated to working with dogs. She started at a daycare and boarding facility and moved on to become a dog trainer until most recently, she came from a veterinary hospital. She’s excited to enter another field that still supports her love for animals, especially dogs! 🐶

When she’s not working Cortny loves hiking with her friends, two-legged and four-legged. She and her boyfriend, Dylan, frequently visit up north to Vermont and Maine, where they enjoy the quiet atmosphere and dine at great foodie spots! A few other favorite things include coffee, backpacking trips, camping, sunrise walks, seafood, and spending lots of time with her family.

Welcome to the team, Cortny! We are so excited to have you as part of our team.
