Brrr ... with blizzards and more then 30 cm of snow forecast to start tonight, we chose a tropical feel for pictures of our 5-week-old Bichon-Poodles! We're enjoying watching the sable puppies change colour as they grow. The sable girl was almost solid black at birth. Soon all the black will all but disappear completely.

We have no idea what's happening. We've enjoyed keeping in touch with our past clients and seeing pictures of our pups all grown up. We hope this has been a page where you've gotten good information on health, training and just enjoyed our photos and videos! UPDATE: We appreciate all the interest for this sweet girl. She has found her new home. She was living in Ottawa and someone else from the Ottawa area contacted us about adopting her. We felt it would be least disruptive for Red Girl if she didn't have to endure a 6-hour car ride back to us and then have to be uprooted once again to go to her new home. Her new family lives only 10 minutes from her. We want her to have the smoothest transition possible.
"Red Girl" from our July 30 litter is sadly being returned to us through no fault of hers, or anyone else's. An unexpected circumstance means that her loving family won't be able to look after her. She'll be returned to us on Nov. 2-3 and we'll have more information and updated photos. But we're told she's a very good girl, doing well with potty training and going right back to sleep after her nighttime potty. She's good in her crate as well. Her crate and belongings will go to her new home with her. Message us if interested and we'll get back to you once she's returned to us. 😢

Our sweet Cavachon pups are 2 weeks old! We love their vibrant colours and markings. For the first time, all the boys are sable and all the girls are Blenheim!

About Fairfield Puppies
We’ve been producing beautiful, home-raised puppies for more than 10 years. Our focus is on healthy puppies who’ll be much-loved family members for many happy years. We start with quality parents who are either CKC or AKC registered or have had genetic testing & have had health testing for appropriate breed-related conditions such as cataracts, heart issues, hip or patella problems.
Our parents have at least a 3-generation pedigree showing that there is no inbreeding or line breeding. The Cavaliers trace theirs to the German lines which are considered the healthiest in the world due to strict breeding standards. Our Bichons come from champion bloodlines in both the U.S. and Europe. Our poodle boy also has champions in his background.
We produce only F1 puppies – that is, our puppies are first-generation crosses of purebred parents for optimum health. These crosses are known for the “hybrid vigour” they inherit because of increased genetic diversity.
And they’re adorable! They’re called “designer dogs” because they are a deliberate combination of 2 parents with complementary temperaments, characteristics and size. For example, many people love the personality and colours of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel but are afraid of the heart issues they’re known for or don’t want a dog that sheds. Adding a Bichon or poodle to the mix produces a healthier dog that doesn’t shed but maintains the lovely colours and markings of the Cavalier.
Both Cavaliers and Bichons are perfect family dogs: loving, loyal, playful, easy to train and eager to please. They are gentle and good with children or other pets. Bichons are more lively and clown-like, entertaining both children and adults. Cavaliers are a bit more sensitive. Cavachon puppies can be like either parents but more commonly are a combination of both -- a bit like “Bichon-lite”. Not as high-energy as Bichons but more outgoing than Cavaliers. They will follow you around the house and curl up on your lap in the evening.
Our puppies are well-socialized by both children and adults in our household and are used to all the sights and sounds of a typical home. We want them to go to their new families confident and secure, not timid and fearful.
We also do something we believe is unique – our puppies go home litter trained! Yes, trained to use a litter box like a cat!!
Most first-time dog owners are most stressed about potty training. Having the puppy litter trained gives the new family tons of flexibility. You can choose to potty train outside right from the start: taking the puppy outside several times a day and likely once overnight; or you can choose to go outside during the day and provide a litter box overnight so you can get some sleep. Or you can provide a litter box only when you need to go out to do errands and can’t be back in time to let your pup outside – your choice. Because they are already used to going to the bathroom in one spot, it’s much easier to train them to go out in a spot in your yard.
Our puppies receive their first vaccinations and vet checkup plus microchipping. We do routine deworming and provide flea treatment before going home. You receive their health record, bag of Fromm’s Gold puppy food, toothbrush, small toy with scent of mom & siblings to ease the transition to a new home, pet store coupon and Health Guarantee.
We are happy to give nervous dog owners support and training tips as they settle in with their new puppy. You can always call or e-mail with any concerns. In fact, we love getting updates and photos (so jealous of our dogs who get to spend the winter somewhere warm)!! We have mostly Cavachon puppies but usually will have one litter of Bichon-Poodles or Cavapoos a year. But whether Cavachon or Bichon-Poodle or Cavapoo, these puppies are wonderful companions who are sure to charm!
