As a community we need to stand up for these critical services that farmstands like this and others add to the community. We need more entrepreneurs and small businesses that help us. Make your voices known, not only does the city do shady things to small businesses but our eyes need to be on the county. My taxidermy business was intimidated a few years ago, enough is enough

It’s worse than we thought.

A councilman finally met with us today. It’s worse than we thought. Here’s some of our take-aways:
- I was accused multiple times of pushing my antiquated, agrarian lifestyle upon the city (not sure he understands what FORCED annexation means)
- The city believes an urban farm is not in the best interest of the city or it’s growth
- He believes freedom is a form of selfishness
- We were encouraged to sell and move the farm to a place were it was welcome
- We appreciated him taking the time to meet with us.
- We appreciate that he was going to attempt to get our questions answered
- We appreciate that he not only recognized one of our children, but engaged with him in conversation. That usually shows a sign of humanity and good character.
- We appreciate not being placated and to speak with honesty.

Projects heading out, this nice Wyoming Muley in velvet has been a favorite of mine this year.

Just an FYI for our fellow Wyoming peeps, seems like this year the mule deer and elk have been putting on lots of fat, I have a prediction that it will be a colder and longer winter, what usually takes me a week to degrease skulls have been taking 3+ weeks this year. They are really storing up, they must know something is coming.

Just wanted to give an update on 2024 animals, still waiting on the bulk of 2024 capes to come back from the tannery. I know it is frustrating to not have your trophy hanging up on your wall, I’m right there with you, it’s a ripple effect when I’m quoted a turn around timeframe because that is what I tell my customers. Trust me my calendar is counting down to chasing speed goats mid August and would love to have everything done to focus on that and elk.
I’ve been taking phone calls and texts over the past two weeks mainly wondering where their mounts are, even a customer that has called me a fraud and claiming I’ve ditched town with everyone’s deposit.
If you have an issue with anything, you are welcome to come by to talk to me in person. I am running a small business and this business is all about word of mouth, good or bad. Trust me the wait is worth it in the long run, in the past 4 years I have managed to keep all wait times under 1 year except one project that was 372 days.

Good morning from beautiful Wyoming! Just wanted to update customers, our family has been navigating some medical things so focus has been shifted lately, but we are moving forward with everything. In addition with a few tanneries closing lately there is a backup on hides, still waiting patiently for hides to return and start mounting. Was able to get a few back and start mounting again. Beautiful Mule Deer buck headed home this week. Thank you for everyone’s patience and support, and will be sending more mounts home soon.

Just a reminder that my books are still open and we are accepting projects if you are looking for quality taxidermy needs in the Southeast region of Wyoming. I know seasons are slowing down but some are still chasing those trophies, small or large we can practically do anything. Best of luck and remember to just go out and have fun and make lasting memories.

Just wanted to let everyone know that the shop will be closed Friday October 18-Sunday October 20 and also Friday October 25-October 27. Chasing elk with my wife.

If you are needing taxidermy work, freeze your animal/cape and we can schedule something when we get back off the mountain.

After a long day of work, then family, then taxidermy work, I decided to look at the northern lights before bed. What a way to reflect and wind down before hitting the hay. Thank you to all that have chosen us at Banded Creations Taxidermy, without you I wouldn’t be doing something that I love. Yes it’s hard work, yes it takes some time away from family, but it is rewarded to preserve memories. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
And if anyone is still looking to get some taxidermy work, I do have open availabilities still.

Hope everyone’s seasons are going well! We need some rain dances and cooler weather dances if anyone can do that would be great.
