Sir Kinker still has a little bit of growing until he fits his harness. He is not bothered by wearing the harness. :) a good sign .
Miss Mau is back to normal :) still getting annoyed by sir Stinker antics.

Looks like we nap most of the day .
We gifted PT a present when he got home .
He found a dead mouse 🐭 at the door.
We can't tell him which one of us caught the intruder. Snitches get stitches.

(we won't use the at followers too often but we really need your help - this is a long post but we hope you will read through it , if you like short posts, the short version is we need to raise some funds asap. )

For those that want the longer, full update:

Wow! August of 2024 already, how did that happen? We try hard to keep our supporters in the know of our happy tails and fundraising efforts. The harsh reality is that the with the increased cost of living, the cost of operating the shelter has gone up and despite amazing efforts made by our volunteers and supporters there is just not enough money that comes in each month and therefor we are often in a shortfall. The shelter being closed for two months for renovations had a huge impact on our ability to collect in person donations and we are playing catch up now. This year we are hoping to raise $15, 000 over the next 30 days. This money will be used to pay off some of our outstanding debt as well as our always growing debt. We are reaching out, with our hearts in our hands, to ask our friends and the public to help our rescue.

Donations can be made by etransfer [email protected] , on our website www.rescuesiamese.com via credit card or paypal. Cheques can be mailed to RESCUE Siamese & Stray Cats at 38 Barberry Road, Winnipeg, MB R2J 2G9, or dropped off in person during shelter hours. Cash donations can also be dropped off to the shelter in person during shelter hours. We are a registered not for profit and have a physical shelter building in Windsor Park. (note we are not charitable therefor we are not able to give a tax receipt) We are 100% volunteer run with all funds going directly to the operations of our shelter.

During the next 30 days we will also be sharing many of our cats that have had large vet bills that we are working to pay off, or have been paid by our credit card but now we need to pay the credit card off. We will also be featuring some of our long-term foster cats that need sponsors.

The 2 most recent medical emergences we have had are Eggnog (top) and Tippy (bottom) . Eggnog had to go to the emergency vet last night when his foster noticed him not doing well. He was spiking a fever and ended up spending the night on IV and on oxygen. Eggnog is a forever foster with some medical issues. He stabilized today and has gone back to his foster home. Eggnog is also on a special diet. Eggnog is looking for some donations in his name.

Tippy (Bottom) went into emergency last week, constipated, lethargic, vomiting and dehydrated. She spent 3 days on IV, with very high liver enzymes over 3000. Normal liver enzyme levels are normally under 120! She went back in this week for a follow up and we are relieved that these levels have come back down, and she is back in the range of normal. She is on the road to recovery but is now on a special gastrointestinal food. Tippy would very much appreciate donations in her name to put towards our fundraising thermometer. We did share Tippy last week but she received also most no funds for her vet emergency, so we are sharing her again.

Meow. Rain , rain , then maybe some more rain today. I may even have to turn the heated throw on and nap. Yes thumbs or not if you paw the tail of the throw it will get warm once you smack it hard enough to make the lights come on . Ciehtie (c.a.t.) taught me that one .

Good news regarding Miss Mau. . She has decided to rejoin us in the bedroom. It is good to see her comfortable enough to come out from under the sofa bed.

Meow ! 😻. Ice cream. We finally went for 🍦 ice cream.
Kinker did really well with the walk , we both got a little anxious when we were in the busy street . The traffic makes too much noise. We bravely sang the song of our people to help us get through that perilous part of the journey.
Miss Mau is still in hiding PT has place water and food under the sofa bed with her .

Meow , PT is getting a little concerned about Miss Mau. She hid once again yesterday under the sofa bed. She came out for a minute last night then disappeared. :/ please send positive ju-ju .

Meow . How can something be so cute and innocent looking? Only to turn into the Tasmanian Devil once the lights go out . Kinker decided that last night was a good time to play soccer ⚽ in the bathtub with PT's razors.

Meow , We are super impressed with Sir Kinkers first outside adventure. He had no problems with his harness and was walking without any problems. :)

We got us an upgrade! Check out the new transportation. PT was super impressed with Sir Kinker. His first day with a harness and leash.
Lots of rain today , so much that PT is dealing with a migraine today . We will be taking turns caring for him .
