Snow Cone and her baby are doing great. Her baby is still trying to figure out what to do with her LONG legs🤣
Ember is three weeks old tomorrow! He is so friendly!
This group has supported this herd for the last three months and I think the foals should be named by the group. So from now until Sunday at 5pm anyone can suggest a name with a contribution to the herd. The contribution can be anything- a salt block, five dollars, a bale of orchard grass, a dose of worme, an hour of mucking. Whatever you can/want to contribute. If you decide to help financially you can come by the red barn or Venmo me.
Put your name suggestion in the chat with this post.
I’ll make a poll with all names next Sunday and then everyone can vote
Things to know: it is a colt, his Dam is an Arabian named Cinder, his sire is a Morgan named Jan, his sister is Eclipse and was homed by Janelle Wilks Huffman. He appears to have a white star on his head, a white rear sock and will be bay. He is healthy, curious, and energetic!
Today was a breakthrough day with Cinder. I have never worked with abused horses and when I first reached out to touch her I quickly learned that was a NoNo! She was very happy to bite my hand or face off. It’s taken four weeks but today she understood I was not going to hurt her. It was a really special moment for me - and I hope signaled a door opening for Cinder.
Feel good moment! Look at little Theodore (Theo). He was one of the two boys friendly and healthy enough for rehoming when we took over The Etlan Horse Herd. Theo is energetic, adorable, and already learning important ranch and trail skills!
