Have you ever worked with a group of people that motivated you, made you laugh and allowed you to be silly and serious at the same time?

Well I did!! An awesome class of Army Officers training down at Fort Gregg-Adams volunteered on the farm weekly for the last 3 months. They brought energy, muscle, an eagerness to learn, and buffoonery because you gotta have fun while sweating.

I can't express enough gratitude to them for all the critical assistance they provided HHUG this Summer. They graduated on Aug. 8th and hopefully have gone back home to continue their service to their communities.

They even brought me parting gifts which we will put to good use. Thank you BOLG 25-008!

The second class has already started coming out in full force and we are continuing to rock it out 😁💪🏾🥬

If you have volunteered or supported H.H.U.G. in the past and now then please be sure to come out. Let's hang out in our good clothes and not dirty, sweaty clothes 😂💪🏾

We will keep an eye on the forecast because we all know how this weather be acting 🙄.

Brown jasmine rice cooked in sesame oil and chicken stock in the InstaPot
Sauteed Bok choy from the farm
Roasted okra from the farm
Topped with furikake seasoning and chili crunch 😋🥬

I'm eating what I'm growing 🙌🏾

Hornworms are here!! Check your tomato, pepper, eggplant plants for damage or look for their gr***de looking p**p. I pulled these two off yesterday 🙄.

Go get some microgreens today!

The Market at PPL is open 10am-6pm today and we just got in Healing Hope Urban Gardens microgreens 🌱🌱🌱 I'm so excited I wore their shirt today!

Reminder we will be closed tomorrow Thursday June 12th so come by today inside the Petersburg Public Library, Petersburg, VA 🌱🌱🌱

Come early tomorrow morning!! We have mixed greens, kale, bok choy galore, strawberries, fresh herbs, bunching onions, eggs and more.
It will be a great market with plenty of vendors.
