Our little Luke Bryan is fighting for his life & his brother, Hardy, crossed the rainbow bridge a few minutes ago 💔

Earlier this week, we were contacted by someone to try to save a litter of puppies on the Lummi Reservation. The owner was told by the local humane society that if they took the dogs in, they would be euthanized immediately.

We immediately contacted the family member that was trying to help these puppies.

Just like everyone else in rescue, we are bursting at the seams, extremely low on funding, and getting our asses kicked just like everyone else.

But these are Pittie puppies in our very own backyard. We have to help.

When we went to look at them on Thursday, we immediately noticed that one of them wasn’t feeling well & got him a Vet appointment for today.

This morning, we went to pick up Hardy, and noticed that Luke Bryan (we renamed them after badass country singers) had gone downhill too.

We immediately went to our vet and they confirmed what we were afraid of… PARVO. We drove straight to the Pet Emergency Center & they took Hardy back right away since he was in such bad shape.

A few minutes ago, the Vet came out to let us know that Hardy was already too far gone & recommend that they help him cross the rainbow bridge. 💔

Luke Bryan is now there fighting for his life, and it’s going to be a minimum of $4,500 to save him. Two of his siblings are showing symptoms so it’s going to be nearly $15,000 to save the 3 of them.

We are headed to grab the other six puppies so we can move four to quarantine and get the other two showing symptoms to the Pet Emergency Center.

This is why rescue & shelters need to step in.

If these puppies would’ve been adopted out, there would be Parvovirus running around in Whatcom county.

We desperately need your help to raise the funds in order to save these guys. Even $1 can make a difference if enough people step in to help out.

As a community, we can work together & save them but we cannot do it without you.

You can donate via PayPal or Venmo at the links below. You can also directly call the Pet Emergency Center in Mount Vernon & confirm Luke Bryan is there & donate to his care.

El Refugio Costa Ballena

- 12 DAYS OF TRANSFORMATIONS - "WILSON" DAY 6

We all have a Hero within us. Thank you for being our Hero.

We want to share what our Heroes have done this year for the animals of Costa Ballena Costa Rica in our “12 Days of Transformations”

DAY 6 of Transformations. Meet WILSON

FROM HAIRLESS TO HANDSOME. Please meet Wilson. He was rescued from the streets of Cortes, Costa Rica in May, 2019, where he was a stray, alone, malnourished, underweight, and had severe mange and a tick-borne disease ehrlichia. His heart and soul seemed broken. After his much needed medical care at Centro Veterinario Costa Ballena in Uvita, he came to the El Refugio Costa Ballena shelter. He continued on his medications, received baths, socialization, and lots of love from the shelter volunteers. After just 3 months, he was at a healthy weight, all his hair had grown back, he had a lot of confidence, and he was ready to be adopted. With the help of a travel es**rt, he flew to Seattle Washington and the Pittie Project PNW helped him quickly find his forever home in Washington, USA. Now he is safe, healthy, happy, handsome, and most of all - LOVED!
